i think the vast majority of people here should know about srb1.

for me, i found out by searching up srb1 after i wondered why no one talked about the original but srb2 was a lot more well known

SRB1 is likely to be pretty common knowledge in this community, as searching up information on it is a rather obvious thing to do after getting introduced to a game with a "2" in the title. What might be a little bit more obscure however is this fun bit of trivia: SRB1 wasn't the only TGF game in the series. The original SRB2 was also a TGF game, so you could think of the version we all know and love today as being something along the lines of a remake or reboot of that original TGF version.

no, it's a game engine by clickteam that srb1 was made with

I do. And Sonic looked like this in SRB1 for some reason.

oh boy...... srb1 (while YES, innovative for its time) is kinda...... well! its safe to say its not aged well these days (atleast in its original tgf iteration)

BUT WITHOUT IT! we wouldnt have srb2 like it is nowdays! so.... uhhhh... yeah! thats all i really can say about srb1

There were attempts, but the last one I ever heard of was abandoned years ago.
As for SRB1 itself, there's actually a download for the original game on SRB2.org. You'll most likely have to download something else to play it, but it'll tell you once you try to start the game up.
