Any favorite Mario Games or fan games

Now hear me out on hotel mario.
If you haven’t played it just wait for hotel mario rebooked…ITS PEAKKKK…but I wanna know what ya guys favorite mario game and fan game is (as I’m learning to make a smbx like engine to make my own)! Mine favorite Mario game is SM3DL and my favorite fan game is SMCD and SMBX38a!

My fav mario game? Hrm, that's tough.

No fangames? Tied between SMM2, SMBW, and SM64.

Fangames? Mario and the Rainbow Stars is great so far.

Fun fact, I actually don't really like Odyssey. I did like it a lot initially, but it just got worse and worse. I don't like games unintended for open world gameplay attempt open world-ish gameplay. Not a huge Frontiers guy but I can see the positives and love modding it.

I agree! I just found frontiers and odyssey just not to my expectations.

Official? Mario and Luigi: Bowser's inside story + Bowser Jr.'s journey, and Super Mario 3/2.
Fangame? Sonic BOLL. (Yes I count that shaddap!)

Yup. I really love RPGS! And Sonic Boll is a good fan game even tho it’s more of a Mario game than it is Sonic.

SMBX2 > SMM2 because SMM2 is basically just trying to be SMBX2 while being more basic for a casual audience.
Both games are good, SMBX2 is just better.
