Alot of people have stated
"Amy's hammer is spin on the ground, but in midair and you have a shield it's jump", which makes perfect sense to me, alot of people have tried making it so like Amy's hammer is always spin, which means her shield ability is her double jump, but guess what problem that causes? Ive played SRB2 so much that im used to using spin for shield, and whirlwind using A when falling is just a neat save if you mistime your jump, i understand that can get confusing though. I think it makes sense for Amy's twinspin to be jump, as it respects the "shield abilities are always spin" and offers less confusion. It's not that hard to remember "A button = Midair Ability", since EVERY VANILLA CHARACTER IN THIS GAME DOES NOT HAVE A MIDAIR SPIN ABILITY. Unless you count Super Sonic's float. And I believe double jump was how you activated twinspin in Sonic Advance too. (dont worry, this isnt another hammer jump discussion.) The only problem with twinspin as jump is the fact you have to let go of jump to twinspin, and this is a game where holding jump gives you the highest jump. A Platformer.
But even then, that's not that big of a deal, after all you cant do a rising thok. Unless you enable jumpthok but thats different. Amy isn't affected bad enough by the problem for it to be a bad idea.
