I don't recommend it, because all sectors should be closed. By keeping it as a triangle, it keeps a closed sector. BSP requires all objects to be solid/closed to work properly.
This is more of a bug about OpenGL not correctly building the polygon of a 3-vertex sector.
Uh, AJ, a single linedef with its front and back sector set to the same sector is considered 'closed' -- even if it's lying in the middle of a sector, not attached to any other linedefs.
Also, the problem is more like "those sectors have the wrong floor height and you can fall in them."
