A strange mystery

Ok.
Here's my prob.
Let's say I select a character WAD like Nitemare
Then I start up the game.
but he's not in the character selection screen.
I sometimes have to load a saved file to play as him
Does anyone know what's wrong?

Nitemare isn't in character select. Multiplayer only.

You'll run into characters like that every now and then.

 

[on Edge]

Character select is a "complicated" feature normally put into the objectconfig. When I say "complicated" I mean that most n00bs can't do it. (Note: Some experienced members can't do it either.)

Certain wads, such as recolors and sprite-rips, don't have this luxury. To select the character, enter devmode into the console, and selet the charater in the multiplayer menu.
