a problem with the screen

i've been trying for a while but i just can't seem to get it. while playing on a server people will talk but the first 1-3 letters in their name get cut off. i've tried about every screen resolution but it hasn't worked. i'd be glad if i could get help with this. my screen is about 1000(+)X780. i've tried the screen resolution for that but there's always some white thing at the bottom.

Try manually adjusting the screen size on the monitor.

If there is another way I'd be happy to know. I just want the game to re size itself according to my screen rather then having to adjust my own.

Doesn't "Stretch 1" fix this problem?
