The Mandelbrot Set is a fractal. What is a fractal? Basically, it's a function that when represented in a certain plane, it renders itself onto itself infinately.
The Mandelbrot Set, though, seems to be ever changing no matter how much you zoom in into itself.
Since long, these fractals have been restricted to 2D planes, save for some adventurous efforts, and the 3D Mandelbrot (Mandelbulb) has been thought to be impossible. UNTIL NOW:

This is amazing, it's just... wow. Just think that, no matter how much you zoom in, you will see new details constantly. It's like exploring the universe. You'll never run out of things to find. I can only imagine somebody wasting his whole life, never stopping, exploring this demonic yet beautiful shape. Demonic because you'll never be able to fully grasp it. Beautiful because its neverending supply of visuals is mathematically perfect.
I feel like writing a story of a person getting lost forever in the mandelbrot, exploring its every corner, living forever and epxloring forever... or maybe make the whole thing an MMORPG and call it a day.
Seriously though, go see those pictures, you won't regret it. (I hope)
