Infinity Tower, Dubai, Dubai Marina
Update: 08/Feb/2007
Imre Solt, Dubai

The foundation site of the Infinity Tower was flooded after a wall holding back the Dubai Marina water breached. Excavation work on the 80-floor Infinity Tower was nearing completion when the incident happened. Nearly 100 workers at the site of the 'tallest building with a twist' had a lucky escape yesterday as a wall holding back the Dubai Marina waters breached and flooded the foundation site. Excavation work on the 80-floor Infinity Tower was nearing completion when there was a sharp and loud sound, said a worker. "We then saw sand pouring down the sides," he said. The workers were ordered to evacuate immediately, said the foreman. The Dh700 million 80-floor tower is to have a 90 degrees twist. According to a manager of Arabtec, the incident is under investigation.

Whoa. That's a lot of damage.
They shouldn't have been building so close to that water anyway. At least everyone got out all right.

WOW!

Talk about a flood, thats sure alot of damage...

I wonder what the price may be for that. *Points to water*

Did anyone get hurt? I hope not...

Holy Crap, that's one big flood, and one heck of a lot of damage, hopefully no one is injured or killed.

You see, Dubai has been actually building islands, literally. Hence, most of the construction projects are being done on islands they literally made out of sand, next to the ocean. No surprise that they're next to the water like that.

Obviously, screwing up something like this is a big mistake, and when they find out how it happened it'll probably cause a few people to be fired =P

Dang!!!!!! That is one strong flood!!!!

Well the important thing is that no one got hurt.
