Default v2.2 - Playstyle & Keyboard Layout

Heyo!

I know that these types of threads have been done to death but now that we've all been introduced to srb2's current playstyle changes and taken the time to adapt to them, I wanted to find out what are people's preferred keyboard setup and playstyle options in vanilla srb2 or in mods/character wads added to vanilla srb2.

My reason for seeking information on this was in the hopes that I could learn what keyboard/gamepad setups may work well with future projects that I'll be working on.
I'll start with describing my setup, as I normally play offline in vanilla srb2, my setup is really simple:

I use the "Standard" playstyle as I love seeing being able to see the other angles of sprites, plus I'm used to abilities pushing me in the direction that the camera is facing.

Z - Jump Key
X - Spin Key
C - Custom 1 Key

Arrow Keys - For turning and forward/backwards movement
WASD Keys - For strafing and forwards/backwards movement

Other custom buttons (such as custom 2 & 3) as well as shooting buttons and stuff, are rarely used so they're usually mapped to their default keys or nothing.

I'm not too big a fan of having to use more than three action keys (jumping, spinning and custom 1) on a keyboard, if I load an addon that requires me to use more than those three, then I'm more likely to switch to using a gamepad and use the "Simple" playstyle.
I also like to make small mods that mainly use those three action buttons that I described before as I find the setup simple and diverse enough if you put the player in different situations in-game.

My control scheme is very similar to the default:
I use the standard scheme, with WASD mapped to movement, Space for jump, and Left Shift for spin. I have the arrow keys bound to turning the camera, but for that I usually use my mouse. Ring toss is on left click, toss flag is on middle click, normal toss is on right click, and custom 1, 2, and 3 are on E, R, and F respectively. Oh, and I use third person vertical mouselook. I think I might be the only person that uses it.

I try out the simple playstyle sometimes, and it works surprisingly well for keyboard only, but not so well with keyboard & mouse.

When I'm playing KB and mouse:

Control type: Standard
Movement: WASD
Camera: Mouse
Jump: Right click
Spin: Left click
Q: Fire ring
E: Toss flag

When I'm playing on gamepad:

Control type: Simple
Movement: Left stick
Reset camera: Left bumper
Jump: A
Spin: X
Fire ring: B
Toss flag: Y

I don't know how on earth anyone plays with jump on the spacebar key.

I use keyboard only since I don't have an external mouse anymore. But hopefully I can get a new one.

Play Style: Legacy
Movement: S,Z,X,C
Camera: Arrow Keys
Jump: V
Spin: Left Shift
Ring Toss: A
Ring Toss Normal: D
Toss Flag: F
Center View: Enter
Reset Camera: W
Custom 1: Q

At one point I might switch from Legacy to Standard.

I second this, as well as how the hell anyone could possibly play with spin on the shift key.

Macbook Air with Nintendo Switch gamepad.

2.2.0

Movement - L stick
Jump - B
Spin - A
Special 1 - X
Special 2 - Y
Camera/X-axis - R stick
First Person - Click in R stick
Reset Camera - Click in L stick
D pad - Look up/down/left/right
L1 - Turn left + look left (hard turn)
R1 - Turn right + look right (hard turn)

Camera: Character movement

For some reason L2 and R2 triggers don't seem to be recognized, but oh well. Gamepad is the only way I'll play a Sonic game.

Looks like im gonna be the weirdo here:

Jump - Spacebar
Spin - X
Movement - WASD
Camera - Mouse
Toss ring - Right click
Toss flag - L
Custom buttons 1, 2 and 3 - F, G, H

I used to jump on right click, but one day I changed to spacebar and... it just felt easier, I could focus my right hand just on the camera movement (or also for toss ring), and my other hand could do the rest, but that's just me.

Standard Playstyle. I'm insane, though, so it's a keyboard solo

I still have this terrible graphic for it, too

Movement (F/B): Up/Down Arrow
Movement (L/R): A/S
Camera (L/R): Left/Right Arrow
Camera (U/D): 8, 2
Jump: Z
Spin: X
Custom Buttons: LShift, Ctrl, Alt

Chasecam is mapped to Numpad + in case I think I ever need that. Uh, I might have ringtoss mapped to RCtrl

This control scheme happened because "move left" being called "strafe left" in older versions surpassed my younger brain, but it's actually pretty serviceable either way.

My preferred controls are pretty much based on the default controls in the Steam release of Sonic Adventure DX and in Standard playstyle:

arrow keys - move
S - jump
D - spin
Q - camera right
E - camera left (I don't know why those feel natural to me, I hate Australian scrolling with a burning passion)
2 - camera up
W - camera down (I rarely use those two, usually by accident)

Wow! A lot of those setups I couldn't imagine playing. But it looks like I wouldn't have to worry too much about future work impacting those different setups.
Thanks for the responses guys, I'll be trying out some of these setups soon.

TBH i have a frankly weird control scheme, but it is incredibly comfortable. EDIT: It basically allows me to dedicate keyboard to horizontal movement and mouse for other actions, mostly.
Standard playstyle
Move: WASD
Jump: Left click
Spin: Right click
Custom keys: 1, 2 and 3
Fire ring: Middle button
Fire normal: Scroll wheel down
Weapon switch: Q and E
First-person toggle: V
EDIT 2: I have toss flag on slash, or - on the Hungarian QWERTZ layout. It's really reserved for character actions since i don't play much CTF, that's why it's in an odd spot.
