Unused Tails Sprite

So on the SRB2 Facebook page: (I accidentally clicked it and found intresting results)

Does anyone know when was this Tails sprite made (I originally put SSNTails instead of does anyone lol) , and did Knuckles also get an unused sprite?

How was this sprite found, like in the early versions, tails had sprites, or as in demo 1's case (uncensored ooo) Tails was a grey sonic.

What was the closest version when this image was made?

Heyy, that tails and knuckles design looks a lot like SRB1 Chrismas sonics design...

Yeah, I saw that sprite in an Early Sonic mod once.

For that last image, it was from a 2.2 beta (i saw it from the videos and the gif on the website).
