You have to replace the Ring Racer kart sprites in the blue box (which the arrow is pointing at) with your custom kart sprites.

Is your firewall blocking all incoming and outgoing communications for Ring Racers? If it is, you'll need to go into your firewall's settings and make it an exception.

Holepunching is a mixed bag. Sometimes, it works, but sometimes, it doesn't. Your best bet is to forward your ports anyway if you still plan on hosting a server.

Have you opened your 5029 port? Ring Racers does have holepunching, but not all ISPs support it.

It was brought to my attention that Mega Splash Hill still had two checkpoints. Version 1.6.2 addresses this. Additionally, the Ruby Cup tracks have more Rings to accommodate for large netgames.
