Are the WS BSS (Blue-Sphere Section) mods safe to host?

Arguments happen. Instead of the classic "everyone stahp!!!!", which never works, you might find it worthwhile to listen to all sides and actually contribute. It might defuse a situation. Or make it worse, which is why an alternative option is to remain silent and watch it unfold.
If you have a problem with a thread or subsequent posts, like say, people getting too rowdy, you should use the report button you can find at the bottom-left corner of every post.

Thank you for telling me.

Please, Dylan, stop it. I already said to make the difference, and dont treat both the art and the author like a single entity.

Yes, they did bad shit, but they follow the rules in what managing a modding host forum, while allowing portlegs, still having some standards and morale by rejecting the ones that doesnt bother to at least credit the creator.

Lets NOT do this, please, dont keep on answering, and dont try to keep on argue with me, as this post its getting off the rails anyways. Youre slowly derailing it to center on the administrators themselves isntead of the page, which was my focus of attention, and the whole point of this thread.
You're literally in the complete wrong in this argument. Dylan has provided evidence against literally all of your claims and arguments. You're the one who is derailing the thread, and YOU'RE the one who needs to stop out of everyone here. You then try to complete wipe his argument aside and just tell him to stop because his argument is actually valid against yours. The workshop is a terrible place, ran by terrible people. =P

For now its not needed. Just, dont keep replying please, question has been already answered, no need to bump this anymore please-..

question has been already answered
This is a forum. Threads can evolve into different topics that are still related to the already answered one.
This is why threads aren't immediately locked even after the question has been answered, provided posts remain civil and related.

If you wish to stop getting notifications, you should unwatch the thread.

Note it won't stop notifications caused by getting quoted, but you can always ignore those.

For now its not needed.
but you are asking for the thread to be locked...

im not going to take any responsibility from what happens after this, if this is to go south. The question is already answered, i dont need anything else.

Whoever is gonna keep discussing here, do it at your own risk, i will not take part on anything and probably risk a very dumb ban

You could have just left when you said you wanted to, if you were really that concerned about it. Also “Go south”? How would this go south, it’s a normal thread, you don’t get banned for arguing unless you’re *REALLY* annoying or just like a terrible person. You haven’t made sense this entire thread either.

reasonable doubt ig

You can host with any mods in the MS, provided they follow the rules stated on the page found below.

While it's more recommendable that you host mods from the MB, nothing's stopping you from hosting mods from other alternate websites.

Just remember that one of the rules prohibits unauthorised ports and edits of released content from being hosted there and if any rule breaking is found, it'll be appreciated if you report it to board staff immediately through Talk to the Staff or by pinging them about it on the Discord Server.

i mean, i know it was quite a dumb question, because, even themselves say that they have two sections for a reason, Red-Sphere for portlegs, and Blue-Sphere for the legit stuff, but i wanted to ask anyways, before doing anything stupid, be it because somehow theres any admin here banning people who use WS mods because they hold any grudge because, lets be honest, while the WS forum is not bad, because its just a page for everyone to access and use, the owners surely were at some point at least, so part of the hate is sorta justified.

Not sure where you got the fact that the staff here holds any grudge with the Workshop or even bans Workshop mods with the reason being only that they're hosted there but I can confirm that's not true at all.

Of course that doesn't take out the idea that some of the content hosted there is concerning and definitely not allowed to be hosted in the Master Server.

Also don't be afraid to ask these questions, everyone is justified to have their doubts answered.

Thought there is another more important, but that one is on the Talk to the staff. Its just something related to adding links to a post, which topic is asking for help on how can i encourage or promote people to use an specific addon of mine on their servers, then link the mod itself to show them "This is the specific mod i need help to promote".

I wasnt quite sure about the where, so i just defaulted to Ask The Staff, where i know an admin was surely most likely to read it, people which are my main focus for this other question i have.

The only addon in BSS that will get you banned is Shadow Plus. This addon edits the original file, which breaks the rules of Master server, and other mods are safe and my addons are safe and I host almost all of them on DreamUniverse .

Like I said, you shouldn’t trust the BSS either.

Why do you still hold grudges against the page itself? i already told you lad, chill down a bit. Hate on the people, not the platform.

The forum did nothing wrong, and its like you blamed it onto Youtube the platform for all the wrong doings of the users, instead of the users themselves, which are literally the reason for why that happened.

Yes, the forum allow for portlegs, which i wont get into topic here now, but thats a conscious action someone did, on a page free for everyone to use at any time.

I stick to the phrase “trust but verify.” I advise that if you download something from the Internet (no matter from which site) and want to use it, check this file for authenticity.

(referring to the thread title, not gonna argue with anyone)

they should be, since the bss is basically a second messageboard (anything allowed in the mb is also allowed in the bss) i wouldnt see a problem, but the rss? yeah its not getting allowed.

That analogy fails because unlike YouTube, the people running the WS must specifically approve what goes onto the site. In fact, if they didn't, it would be even worse. It's objectively not a grudge, I just don't think the WS admins have demonstrated sufficient trustworthiness to not see it as potentially risky for problematic addons to still be posted. Trust is something that isn't owed, it's earned.

If someone uploads something illegal, whos fault is it?

The platform that host the file?
Or the person who uploaded the file?

Rule 12: Do not bump threads pointlessly. Make sure your post adds something to the discussion.
No offense, but I'm just here in the background eating popcorn watching this.
