Large File Size Issue

Hello, I have been wanting to submit a music pack for a while now. The only thing stopping me from doing so is the file size, the largest one out of 3 being 199.2 MB. They all loop, but I'm not sure what else to do
 
make sure every single one of your music files are compressed to the minimum ogg size, it turns out as about 1mb per individual song. the listening quality is nearly indistinguishable if you use audacity to do so, so don't worry about that when compressing.
 
Your music pack also needs to be your own original compositions, as our rules outline we do not accept music packs for the very reason you described; the file size on them is ENORMOUS for something folks usually do not compose themselves. It also falls under "content (the user) did not make", as while they may have looped the songs, they still did not compose them. It'd be like uploading a sprite rip.

But let's say you did compose the music, or you're trying to share this with friends. In that case, use OGG files to keep filesizes lower, and make the song loop, playing in its entirety only once. All too many times, folks will put the two loop fade out like a lot of gamerip albums do, and that's incredibly bloated and jarring for a music pack.
 
From How to Use the New Addons & More System:
After you select a category, you can upload your file. Currently, you may upload up to 5 files with a maximum file size of 64MB each. This is separate from adding files to the description -- Use the top Attach Files button for your addon's files, and use the one under the description box for images of your addon!

If you have an addon file that is larger than 64MB, you can use software such as 7-Zip or WinRAR to create a split archive of it. Just tell the software to split the archive into 64MB chunks. If you have a 90MB file called mod.pk3, you can use this technique to split it -- the resulting archive chunks will be mod.001 (64MB) and mod.002 (26MB). The bigger your file is, the more chunks you'll need. You can add all files required by your addon in this way if you like. All the end user will have to do, assuming they have WinRAR or 7-Zip, is put all the archive chunks in the same directory, then open any of the chunks to view the files and extract them.

If your file is more than 320MB total using this method, please contact a judge and we'll see what we can do to accommodate.
