Also another issue is that my friend can't join me on an unlisted server (private server) I'd also like a help with that with how to properly do it/instructions since I use a technicolor router.

The instructions you followed for the Ray ID only apply if you get a "<!DOCTYPE html>" error. Can you confirm that this is the error you get in the console? Wait for the error to appear and then open the console by pressing the backtick/tilde key (` or ~ on the keyboard above the Tab key).

I think so because from what I saw it gives me the same error I see on other people that had the same issue as me yet no solution, I'll send a screenshot, even when I try to host it does this mainly and I did the forwarding port thing from an old tutorial, Don't know if it's still up to date but I did it.

Hope this somewhat helps you figure out if I'm right or wrong about it.

You have a different problem than the "<!DOCTYPE html>" issue and you don't need to forward ports. SRB2 seems to fail to do DNS resolution. Try restarting the computer, and if it doesn't solve, try disconnecting the network on the computer (e.g. turning Wi-Fi off, disconnecting Ethernet cable, etc.) and reconnect and try again, and as a last resort if it still doesn't fix, try restarting the router.

Does this help solve it?

I did actually restart my router and reconnected the cables yesterday, though nothing changed even restarting my pc a few times didn't help solve that, I don't know why I'm struggling that badly with this honestly, I just wanted to play properly with my friend/people too by hosting my own server but it seems it won't let me do it the weird part is that I can join other people's servers but not host one that the public could see.

Can you join people from the master server or do you have to manually type their IP address?

I can join from the master server, can't join through IP though, tired it with my friend and he can't join me either even after port forwarding my router itself.

You seem to be mixing up different things. It doesn't make sense that you can join a server from the master server but can't join the same server by typing its IP address and port number directly. It's also different than hosting yourself, because you don't need to forward any ports to join other servers. And if you give your IP address directly to your friend, assuming you forwarded ports correctly, they could join you even if SRB2 fails to do DNS resolution and contact the master server as seems to happen from your screenshot.

Can you clarify works and what doesn't work for you? Try joining the same server both from the master server and with direct IP/port. Try hosting a server on the master server, see if you get an error; if your friend can see your server on the MS, tell them to try to connect to you through the MS. Failing to host on the MS is different than hosting on the MS ans your friend failing to connect to your server on the MS. Also try giving them your external IP/port directly and see if it works.

I'll try to make myself make sense properly, my bad for that I'm abit fuzzy from trying to figure out how those things work, I've been at it for 3 days now consistently trying to search for something anyhow.

First I did try to host a master server via standard room with the default address, got that exact Error I sent.

Second, I told my friend to check on the master server webpage if it's there just incase it was a visual error and he said there's nothing there so it confirmed to me that the error really is preventing me from creating one.

Third, I tried to host a private server by doing it as an unlisted and it still didn't work via IP porting for my friend, Not sure if I 100% did it correctly since technicolor looks very different than other routers so it's a little confusing, I'll still provide you with screenshots of what happens, for example:

My friend says that the problem is: He's stuck at the connecting screen for so long meaning it's blocking him so I figured that out and did the IP port forwarding, checked firewall, antivirus and whatnot everything's seems to work fine.

If you want I can also send your screenshots of how my technicolor admin panel looks like, I really don't mind and thank you for trying to help me out, I extremely appreciate it.

Your master server address seems to be incorrect, can you try rewriting it? See this page for the correct address:

For whatever reason the adress changes to ds.ms.srb2.org instead of what you just showed me and it doesn't stop, I retired a couple of times and it keeps automatically popping up.

I don't know how to change this.

PS: If another message related to this gets sent it's due to moderator check because I typed the full address which is basically a link so ignore it.

Try these two things:
  1. Connect to the master server in SRB2 by joining — can you see the servers listed on the master server in the game? No need to connect to them.
  2. While you're hosting a server unlisted: Tell your friend your IP address, and tell them to add port number 65437 on the first try and see what happens, then retry with the same address and the correct port, then retry with the same address and port 65437 again. Do all three tries fail? Do they all fail in the same way? Then stop hosting your server and tell your friend to repeat exactly this. Is there any change between the three tries when you were hosting to the three tries when you weren't?

1. Now It won't even let me see the master server browser server, having the same issue once again as before, didn't happen until now don't know what happened.

2. How does he change the port number?

Now I've got another issue regarding the master server.

When typing a direct IP address, for example:
123.45.6.78
You can add a port number like this:
123.45.6.78:5029
If you don't type a port number, it just assumes 5029, but you can type any port you want.

That's a very useful information, I really appreciate it thank you!

None worked, tried stopping to host, nothing. Same thing.

Now I've got another issue regarding the master server.
Regarding this post, I managed to fix it by retyping the same thing once again.

Just can't host a server, that's the only issue.

Along with the IP stuff of course ^
