looks epic, but you do know pngs aren't valid for char sprites, right? is there a format that does work?

What are you talking about? PNG sprites are supported since the 2.2 release.
In any case, you can still convert the sprites to Doom format with SLADE, should a format not be supported.

I think he means by GIF not being supported, this just shows a gif of what you will see, like when pointy sonic gifs it shows what u will get (if this makes sense)

also pngs are allowed as textures for skin models or levels
