[Open Assets] Tanuki Pack 1.5.3b

Simple Update List:
  • Mega Aurora Hill lap count increased to it's original 5 laps
  • Fixed an invisible tripwire on Mega Null Space
Not a huge update, just bumped the tracks that had 4 laps down to 3 laps.

Still unsure when I wanna come back to working on this pack. But figured I'd do this in the meantime after loading it up after months.
To Put simply, this just fixes any issues that may have came up between RC1 and 2.4's official release. Some of the changes are as follows:
  • Fixed certain Tripwires from going infinitely down (whoops)
  • Reduced the amount of checkpoints across multiple tracks. Most have 1 maximum now due to their general size (Sealed Circuit has none due to how small it is anyway)
  • Removed Tripwires from springs in MEGA Null Space (Rewards in that top path are changed to reflect this. You do need to have some substantial speed to get up there though)
PERSONAL UPDATE
I'm taking a bit of a break from working on Tanuki Pack. This is just due to feeling uninspired to work on tracks and the tinkering I have done hasn't really bore any fruit. That being said, I do wish to finish the Pack at some point.
The plan (when I do get back to it) is to expand Pocket Cup with two new tracks and an additional Battle map as well as finish Fly Cup so it's not just GBA Luigi Circuit and Distant Shore (which I am aware the cup isn't a "playable cup" because of this. I just put those in there for later organizing). In terms of Special Stages, none are planned and it is also likely I may not add any for sake of keeping some sanity.
Regardless, I hope you guys enjoy the tracks available in this pack as it is.
  • Cool!

Had to do the following adjustment/fixes:

- Fixed MEGA Null Space shortcut having a death pit on the Trick Panels.
- Slowed animation on MEGA Null Space textures to (hopefully) help with eye strain.
- Moved Checkpoint on Arid Sunset
Welcome to 2.4 racing!
Now with 2.4 Compatibility and some new maps (largely new battle maps, but to be fair I was hoping to do a larger "2.0" build but then Ring Racers 2.4 hit Release Candidate).

Have some patch notes while you're here:

==========

NEW CONTENT!:
  • Arid Sunset (Race): A romp though a sunset Arid Canyon from SRB2, though the layout seems familiar to a certain GBA track... There may be an errant mod dev hanging around that may be willing to chat or mischievously play with racers that may pay him a visit. (All interactions are non-canon and just for fun)
  • Warp Rift (Battle): A strange icy rift, featuring portraits that could lead to other tracks (though don't worry about accidentally using them). Features some track cameos from Pro Pack X!
  • Distant Shore (Battle): The first battle map of Fly Cup! Traverse the high tide of this map to bash foes or break prisons.
  • Mario Bonus (Battle): Something Something, what if map was just an 8-bit Mario Sprite. A goofy battle map that is just a bonus for this pack.

General Changes:
  • All previous tracks updated to 2.4, largely involving adding the new checkpoints.
  • Fly Cup is "kinda" implemented. It just has GBA Luigi Circuit and the new Distant Shore battle map, so don't expect it to be a riveting cup right now.
Lap Counts:
  • GBA Luigi Circuit is now 4 laps
  • MEGA Haunted Heights is now 4 laps
  • MEGA Null Space is now 4 laps
  • Sealed Circuit is now 8 laps
MEGA Null Space:
  • MEGA Null Space has had a rework. Nothing major to the layout, but the map now isn't all FOFs. As a result, the map can be easier edited for later builds if necessary.

Good thing I was placing spray cans on my race tracks this whole time.
