sonic.pk3

sonic.pk3 1.0

IT'S THAT ONE CHARACTER FROM EXECUTIONERS CLU- ok all jokes aside, I know I'm extremely late to this mod but honestly, This mod is pretty cool for being a horror mod. I could genuinely see this getting it's own game however the level design seems slightly undercooked with some basic placements and you spawning in the wrong direction (in the second level). But I don't think you need to fully overhaul those parts, Anyways it did spook me out a bit (probably cuz i was downstairs playing it by myself alone lmao) so uh yeah this mod is peak!

It's short simple, and pretty enjoyable honestly! My favorite part of this are the 3d models and overall artstyle. I like the look of them! Sonic also kinda jumpscared me during the reading part but I'm 100% not scared of anything all all! 100%... Yea....

I know this mod came out a while ago, but sense I just finished the mod right now, I thought I might as well leave a review!

My only problem with the mod is how short it is, which makes me hope that this mod comes back in someway. But uhhh yea. That's my review.

Have a nice day!

Ok, I actually gotta thank you so much for making this cuz the srb2 horror scene is deader that Fight Knight's fandom. Especially when this one has like...an actual story and whatnot. Goddamn this game has way too much horror potential and way too little people that actually even dare to explore it. That aside the story felt kinda like a rerun of rewrite with a bit of el pendrive azul thrown in, the jumpscare at the ending was kinda...eh (altho I will admit it got me) and the endings (as in both of them) are pretty confusing and vague as to what happens in them. That aside, however the atmosphere is really good and unsettling when it tries to be. I was genuinely creeped out at the end there when I saw that countdown, and I love the sonic design you used. Also that effect of sonic reaching out from the screen to grab you, I loved that too. Maybe a custom set or sprites for sonic to look more like the design used in the desktop zone would've helped, with it switching back to regular old sonic in the ending with the countdown, although I get that making sprites is a pain in the ass and a lot of work, so I understand why it wasn't done. All in all, pretty good and a good refresher from other mods.

This by far is the most 'that's what I'm sayin!' reply I've read. The main things you pointed out were pretty much exactly what I was thinking when making the mod. if you'd like to post more criticism in the discussion tab, I'd love to hear it!

Even though I didn't understand anything at all, the mod, especially the first one, is simply incredible. I'll be waiting for more from you, it turned out really cool. Thanks for the mod.

I'm glad that even without too much understanding of the story it's still enjoyable. Thanks for the review!

All things considered, VERY nice for a small little horror romp. The lore was really interesting, and that timer spooked me at the end. Don't wanna spoiler, but good job with this, dude.

I hate to come off as mean, but man this feels super undercooked.
It feels like there's potential for something there, but the brevity of how it ends at how brief it is really makes it feel like the start of something much longer, only for that to be it. It feels like you went to all the trouble with the Windows OS and the honestly cook 3d model that was only on screen for like 2 seconds
In terms of critiquing what's actually there, I have a lot of different qualms about it.
I want to forgo pointing out some of the cliches and typical tropes done in a lot of other creepypasta/horror stories because I don't like to compare, and I think anything can be done well enough and differently enough to be it's own thing. That being said the way story feels like a quick synopsis of itself, as well as SRB2 being solely unrelated to the story

Part of me feels like I'm maybe missing some big secret (particularly with that one Ffower room) but I think this feels like rushing homework on a topic you could get an A+ on
It needed more time in the oven, to establish the characters, and maybe rethink the narrative medium it's told through due to it's seeming irrelevance

The "villain" feels very slapdash, only existing to aura farm at the very end

Again, I get some of what you were going for, this feels like a v0.1 of a bigger project, I'd love to see you expand on this more.
I'm not going to rate it a 1 because I didn't hate it,

Thanks for the review! It was kind of meant to be a horror/comedy(?) (as you can see from the main page). The cliches it wears are somewhat intentional. I didn't know how to fit Sonic in anywhere else without extending the game or just slapping him in there as some sort of SMB wonder flower. It being told through SRB2 is intentional, though. (I started making the mod around the beginning of September, and then went, "hey wouldn't it be cool if this got released for halloween?", so please forgive me if it seems unfinished, cause it's also my first level mod.)
