Sailor Moon & the Sailor Senshi Racers (for Ring Racers) V3

The racing superstar Haruka Tenou, better known as Sailor Uranus makes her debut from SRB2 Kart to Ring Racers! By Ferrari, motorbike or by go-kart, she is always ready to race! This includes both 2D sprite art and a 3D model with new details, including an alternate signpost. The character pack is about to hit 2,000 downloads. As a celebration, this update now pairs the roster up to the SRB2 Kart version, not counting the extra characters.

Along with this update includes several fixes for character models and updated sprite art for followers.

3D Models

• Revised 3D models for Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Venus and Chibi-usa

Followers

• Revised front sprite art for Cosmic Heart Compact, Crisis Moon Compact, and Eternal Moon Article. The follower pack is now V2.1

In celebration of over 1,000 downloads of Sailor Racers for Ring Racers, this pack now introduces Sailor Moon's transformation brooches from all five story arcs floating by your side helping grant it's power. (Or in the case of this game, your stash of rings with accessibility features like Auto Ring) The followers pack has been included to feature the original Transformation Brooch, the Crystal Star, the Cosmic Heart Compact, the Crisis Moon Compact and the Eternal Moon Article! Just like the Luna-P follower that was made available in the previous update, these brooches also animate based on specific actions performed by the player and includes 3D model variants. You can opt for versions with and without an outline to reduce the cel-shaded like effect. Look for the Sailor Moon category when choosing a follower!

Of course these brooches are not limited to Sailor Moon herself. Anyone can use them and customize their color with spray cans collected from the tracks. While racing players can also use the "Look Back" button to taunt trailing racers with a unique magical 'horn' assigned to each brooch to let them know what kind of power you're wielding.

To display the 3D model versions of all the brooches, before launching the game you will need to modify [models.dat] (Using programs such as a text editor) and place the following at the end of the file. Be sure to save and close the file then turn on the OpenGL renderer in Ring Racers. You may also need to turn on 3D models if they are turned off. 3D models are also available for the followers pack and are loaded similar to the playable characters.

To activate your power you must hold your brooch in the air and say the following depending on your chosen brooch:

Transformation Brooch: Moon Prism Power, Make Up!
Crystal Star: Moon Crystal Power, Make Up!
Cosmic Heart Compact: Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up!
Crisis Moon Compact: Moon Crisis, Make Up!
Eternal Moon Article: Moon Eternal, Make Up!

But that doesn't do anything in this game. Rings are what gives power to the go-karts. That's why it's called Ring Racers. Whether you shout Ring Power or not in voice chat next time is up to you, really.

Chibi-Usa, Sailor Moon's daughter from the future is here... today in Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers! The newest racer to the Ring Racers series comes courtesy of Bendedede's amazing spritework as well as a 3D model, both updated from SRB2Kart to Ring Racers! Chibi-Usa comes in as the lightest character in the pack As for the Luna-P follower...

Luna-P has been converted to Ring Racers as a traditional follower for all characters to use with all animations in tact, resting under the new Sailor Moon followers category. Luna-P comes as 2D sprites and as a 3D model now with the ability to change colors and an in-game horn! It sounds kind of familiar...

Also included is an alternate signpost that's activated after certain conditions in Ring Racers are met. Chibi-Usa's alternate signpost includes a special appearance by Helios, a.k.a. Pegasus! Have you seen the alternate signposts for the other characters in the pack? They're guaranteed to demonstrate the most talent.
