Turns out that Malgamation (Race) still has the "2 laps in one loop" thing, and it is ill-advised to have checkpoints and have one loop of the course consist of multiple "laps", as it results in issues with grading in v2.4. (You can still complete a race on v2.4 as crossing checkpoints is not actually required to complete a lap.)
There are four checkpoints placed on the map and due to how the course is designed, you are meant to hit only two of these on each "lap" (as in "start > checkpoints 1-2 > lap 1 > checkpoints 3-4 > lap 2"; it usually goes as "start > checkpoints 1-4 > finish"), such as this on "lap 2":
The actual problem is that the grading expects to hit all checkpoints before passing a "lap" and any unregistered checkpoints upon completion of a lap results in no credit for these checkpoints, resulting in a maximum of:
- 8 / 8 Lap Bonus in v2.3
- 67 / 150 EXP in v2.4
v2.4 uses EXP to determine final results of a Grand Prix cup, resulting in lower score gains for all players in this course and potentially having less effect in final standings than in all other races of a Grand Prix.
I should have pointed this out earlier, but the same course also displays an "FOF top height below bottom" and a "multiple finish line waypoints" error in console when loading the map.
EDIT: CPU players can get stuck in this spot and will not try to respawn out of it as long as they are in flashing tics, since that determines if the anti-grief timer should tick up and that is also used to determine if the CPU should use Ring Shooter.
EDIT 2: Missing "no-respawn" flag on this waypoint.
EDIT 3: In Gumball Roundabout, minimap position is still incorrect. Also, split times will stop registering after 16 laps.
