Why is Dead Line Zone is getting replaced in 2.4?

I know I haven't been playing much Ring Racers lately, but I just found out about this...

"The map [Dead Line Zone] is planned to be removed in the upcoming 2.4 update and be replaced by a new map named Hot Crater."

All I have to say is... Why?
I like this map for its uniqueness, and it's a shame that it'll get replaced by something that might not be worth my time and enjoyment. Is it not that enjoyable for someone else? Was it not popular within Online Mode? Was it such a nightmare to keep it upstream with the newer updates? I would like some kind of reasoning or answer to this, as I not been in Discord at all.

By my understanding, the devs think the map needs work (that is, it's super jank if it isn't played "correctly", in ways that aren't fun and screw over the player, to semi-paraphrase velocitoni), but none of the devs want to actually work on the map, so they're just trashing it and replacing it. It probably won't take long for someone to port Dead Line to 2.4, though. Or, heck, you could even do it yourself when the time comes.
