Oh, I know it's possible; I've done it myself. It's just a lot harder to remember exactly where it is, and the waterfall is a rather useless hint, since you just CANNOT get that high with Sonic - at least, not by going in the front.

You can get that high from the front, you just got to know how.

In fact, there are about two ways to do it from the front. But both of them are semi-one shot; you can very easily lose what is necessary to do it.

I figured out how to do it after exploring with Knuckles. The tricky part now is making that huge thok jump as Sonic. Heh.

Just bounce off some enemeis or something.

Personally, what I do is get on the wall, spindash out, do about a 45 degree turn and thok into the waterfall.

No, that's not what I mean (or is it? I dunno). I mean the big jump onto the platform with the extra life.

My way of doing it is getting the air shield, and using that to double-jump from the nearest platform into the waterfall. Guess there really are multiple ways to do it.
