Basicly this is a simple soc, it just cycles through the idle pose quickly, so it's
stand, idle 1, idle 2, idle 1 -back to stand
I dunno, it could be used somewere, just ask me if you use it

Also this is my third soc, i might do another one later. different from this of course =P

That wasn't touché at all. If you don't explain why the **** we would ever use it, how do you expect anything to actually come of this?

Also, we already have idle poses. It's in the character frames. I'm pretty sure this just lengthens the amount of time it uses, but still, pretty useless.

Touché means a smart or curt response/answer :P

Look, I know what touché means, and it isn't what you just said.

Touché: an expression used in response to a cunning or witty part of an argument between two or more parties.
Touché is not a noun; you presented it as a noun, and is therefore incorrect. =|

Also, lightdasher, all SOCs are not useless. As a matter of fact, doesn't Mystic Realm use a MAINCFG SOC lump? That's as dumb as saying "all WADs are useless".

You can try looking like you know what you're saying, sure, but when you don't, it's best to just keep your mouth shut. You made something useless, and all you're doing is dodging the fact that it's not only poorly made, but it was made with no initiative -- seeing your attitude toward the criticism you're getting.

Ok then, lets look at it this way, socs arent usless, they are used for srb2, but what's srb2 used for? playing on by us, why are we playing it, because we want to, by why? to keep us amused, by why do we need that? to keep us from getting board, but why do we need that?

I really hope you're ready for some philosophy.

Humans need entertainment and the ability to entertain themselves and others for the sheer purpose of life itself. This ties into competition, amongst other things, the inner machinations of the human mind. Without any purpose or substance within a human's life, the human loses interest in actually living to optimal potential. Because of this, the human drives to FIND the purpose and such that go along with the bonds that keep him living; thus, he finds whatever he can to make himself in the best position possible by competing with other humans, or just sticking to his own presence and enjoying himself. Without this, insanity ensues. The humans created entertainment out of an attempt to add variety to daily life instead of redundancy. Entertainment can be composed of: Watching something, doing something (both as actions), competition, and excitement.

That is why games exist; they create a virtual environment in which to provide for the key points of entertainment. SRB2 is part of the type of entertainment, "Video Games". WADs and SOCs are used to add even MORE variety in SRB2 to keep this game from becoming redundant, and allowing the people playing it to have a creative outlet, and be somewhat competitive.

There, you got your answer. Let's see how well you dodge this.

Well, my soc is just for Icandy, nothing more, it dosent matter, i don't want this to turn into a war. it's just to make somthing more pretty, now let me go do my other soc

Ash shut up and read the first post before uttering random crap. If you had read it correctly you would have known that it was pointless in the first place. Sorry to be rude though.

OK, lemme be clear: almost all SOCs are useless alone. Some SOCs do cool things like changing the behaviour of an item in an interesting way and such, but otherwise all SOCs are useless unless they're attached to something (a level, a character, etc.). That was what Light Dasher was trying to say.

Yes, that's exactly what I was trying to say, thank you sik

You're welcome.

Now that I come to think on this, it'll work only to a specific character if you use OBJECTCFG, right? Then doing something similar I would be able to make completely different animations if I try without being tied to the original SRB2 frame limitations. Now that would be interesting, by having completely custom wait poses or fixing Shadow WAD running pose for example (Shadow doesn't move his feet that fast while at full speed in the Sega games, right?).
