Unable to bind triggers... but only on Windows

Title says all. Right now I'm using a Dualsense and I've tried this with DS4Windows running & disabled, but I want to set Fire & Fire Normal to L2/R2 but I can't. It just won't be detected.

However, when running SRB2 on Linux regardless of the distro in question, I can bind these inputs to the triggers with no issue at all whatsoever. I searched it up and people have said that it just can't work but clearly it can so...what's going on?

Are you using the key bindings menu or the gamepad options menu to bind the triggers? The former only responds to digital input and the latter only controls analog input.
Some OSs and Bluetooth stacks differ in the way triggers are handled; for some devices, they're buttons, and for others, they're axes.
Options > Player _ Controls > Gamepad Options
also no offense but this is the 3rd thread like this i've responded to

Key bindings menu. I ended up realizing that you can bind the triggers in Windows the way you said before you posted, but my question was more so WHY is it like that between operating systems? I can’t think off the top of my head but I know this isn’t the only game that does this so I did want to know if anybody knew exactly why SRB2 handles triggers differently between Windows & Linux.
