THE RING RACERS RANDOMNESS PACK RETURNS!!!​

Today I'm here to announce that the RING RACERS RANDOMNESS PACK is getting another mod! I bet you had your fun ring racin' around with Pocoyo & Friends, but now some more characters prepare sliptide into the chaotic action-packed racing game that is "Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers"! and now, without furtherado...​

CHARACTER PACK 2 OF THE RING RACERS RANDOMNESS PACK IS...​

THE SHIMMER AND SHINE PACK!!!​

You've ring raced around with Pocoyo and his Friends, and soon, you'll also get to ring race around with Shimmer, Shine and friends!​

You may have seen a tease of this on the Kart Krew Dev Discord Server's Custom Racers chat channel when I was showing off my old vector of Shimmer in the ring racer....

GOALS...

• Get em' into the game - Just simply put all of these divine goobers into Ring Racers because why not! This seems simple, but characters like Roya & Parissa will be quite hard to do. (This is why I've resorted to giving Shimmer and Shine, and later Zeta, Kaz and Samira causal clothing.)​

Oh, and as a mini-sized bonus, I've made custom item Snipe sfx for all of my prior mods:

"Leah's Ring Racers Debut!"​

Heya, welcome to my first Ring Racers mod devlog! So remember this post about the Ring Racers Randomness Pack getting a second mod themed around "Nickelodeon's Shimmer and Shine"? Yeah so I managed to complete one of the characters in the collection. Leah the Girl's sprites are complete, and she's ready to ring race! ...for the most part, I've still got to find SFX for her.

(Note: If you have the Ring Racers Randomness Pack: Pocoyo Pack mod enabled as well, she will be Nina's rival. Leah doesn't have any SFX present yet either.)​

Leah won't be alone in this ring racin' journey for long, however... Her friend Zac is also ready to tear up the track!

"Zac's made it into Ring Racers in time!"​

Heya, welcome to the second Ring Racers Randomness Pack devlog!
Last time, I managed to complete Leah the Girl's sprites and put her in Ring Racers. And now, despite what I thought initially, her friend Zac has also gotten his sprites complete yesterday and he's now ready to ring race! ...for the most part, I've still got to find SFX for him.
(Do note that there's currently no gameplay footage of him right now because I have yet to make some.)
I've also whipped up a WIP version of the modpage's logo too, (well, it's WIP because it only has Leah and Zac on it currently.)

I'll leave the download files in the attachments if you wanna ring race with Leah and Zac for yourself.
Unfortunately, it looks like I'm not gonna be able to get Shimmer, Shine, or Zeta into the game in time...
Oh well, there's always next year, right?

Heya, welcome to... um... this second & a-half devlog!
So, this devlog's a little different this time around: I'm gonna take a mini-sized break from developing the Shimmer and Shine pack of the RING RACERS RANDOMNESS PACK (don't worry, it'll be back in the works eventually, hopefully pretty soon!) so that I can focus on school (which has just started up 3 days ago). But before I resume this mod's development (when we reach that bridge), I'm gonna create a BONUS PACK (for those who want more custom racers from me now) themed around a popular TV series. Stay tuned!

"MOD DEVELOPMENT IS BACK ON! Shimmer and Shine are on the way!"​

Heya, welcome to another devlog!
So uh, remember the Bonus Pack I said I was gonna make before continuing this mod's development?
Scratch that for a sec because the Shimmer and Shine pack of the RING RACERS RANDOMNESS PACK is BACK IN DEVELOPMENT!!!
(well technically the bonus pack is still coming anyway, so stay tuned for that)

Finally, the titular twin-genies-in-training are in the works! But they look a little different this time around... They've gone casual (well, kinda. You can still see Shine's Pink Diamond and Shimmer's green Teardrop gems and their respective gem link things)! Here's how they look prior to them getting modded into the game. (EDIT 9/5/24: THEY'RE HERE!! LOOK AT THE MOST RECENT DEVLOG ENTRY!)

If you've been on GameBanana's Ring Racers page, you may notice that I've recently set up a WIP mod page for this mod on there. Once Shimmer and Shine come out, that modpage will get updated to include them. Have fun with Leah and Zac for now!

"Shimmer and Shine have finally arrived... The Gang's All Here!"​

Heya, welcome to another devlog!
I'm glad to announce that Leah & Zac's friends Shimmer & Shine have finally gotten their sprites complete and are now ready to ring race! ...for the most part, I've still got to find SFX for them. Here's some epic gameplay gifs of the group!

Spoiler: Wait, but what about Zeta, Kaz, and the custom followers?

They will arrive at a later time. For now though all of them will have to watch the ring racing action all the way from Zaharamay Falls as development on this mod has paused again to focus on the BONUS PACK. However, Kaz is learning how to opperate a ring racer and Zeta has already mastered the basics, and they are waiting for the p e r f e c t time to slide in...

NEALY & AJAYMAY's RING RACERS RANDOMNESS PACK DEVLOG #4​

"The voice loss curse is slowly wearing off! Character sounds are now in dev."​

Heya, welcome back to the RRRP devlog!!
Looks like the vocal loss incident that Nazboo accidentally caused has started to decay significantly, and now Shimmer, Shine and Leah are getting their voices back! In other words, I caved in and decided to grab audio from various Shimmer & Shine Episodes for all of the characters!

MY CURRENT PROGRESS with this:​

• SHIMMER is VERY close to being done, she only needs ATTACK2, and BOOST2. (ZAHARA-SLAM!)​
• SHINE is also very close to being completed, but she needs ATTACK1, ATTACK2 and LOSE instead. (DOUBLE ZAHARA-SLAM!)
• LEAH needs the following sounds: Both ATTACKS, Both BOOSTS, Both HURTS, and a GLOAT.
• ZAC is virtually nowhere near done, only having SLOW and LOSE sfx. Unfortunately for him I'm probably going to temporarily remove him from the pack until I find more Zac SFX.
  
  Now, why did I not mention their SLOW sfx? well, because I'm gonna have them directly say "I'M [CHARACTER NAME GOES HERE]!"
  Anyway, I should be able to complete Shimmer and Shine first, then Leah, and then Zac.
  
  Remember, the latest version is in the Gamebanana page and on this WIP page. There's also a MB post on the way too!

Heya, welcome back to the RRRP devlog!
SHIMMER and SHINE's sounds have finally been finished and now they're ready for some divine ring racing! ZAHARA-SLAM!
LEAH and ZAC will follow along soon! Just gotta finish up the sounds for them first. And then I'll think about tackling ZETA, KAZ, and SAMIRA.

SHIMMER and SHINE's ALL-NEW file will be left here so that you can mess around with them. Enjoy!

Seems like that voice curse ruined everything. Why? Because of it, the Shimmer and Shine Pack's SRB2MB page got rejected...

Looks like I'm going to have to finish Leah and Zac's sfx a little quicker if I want to get this mod out on the MB.

I dont have any vendetta or grudge against the MB judges over this though. After all, if I was playing ring racers and a character with no GLOAT sfx had used invincibility or grow, there'd be no way to tell whether or not they had activated it other than their minimap/inrace ranking icon/them being right behind me ingame, and I'd just get sneak attacked.

Anyway, I'm going to try to fix this issue and get the mod back on the MB, better than ever. Stay tuned for it's re-release with the fixed edition!

"BREAKING NEWS: Shimmer and Shine to become one Ring Racers character instead of two"

You know the drill by now, welcome back to the RRRP devlog!
Sorry for not focusing on Ring Racers Randomness Packs that much, but I've been busy with my other mods and with giving my RandomRingRacers server a unique identity.

But I'm gonna say this loud and clear:
The Shimmer & Shine Pack (and any future RRRP installments) HAVE NOT BEEN CANNED!

I still have to finish up this mod so that I can successfully start getting this out on the MB again and finally update the GameBanana page.

Anyway, as I showed off in the KKD Discord Server yesterday, Shimmer and Shine are indeed going to become one Ring Racers character instead of two.

Thats right, this means that they'll be the first of my modded Ring Racers characters that end up becoming a 2-in-1 Character.

[Note: this doesn't mean Shimmer and Shine are gonna pull out the Dragon Ball fusion move and transform into one genie-in-training, lol]

Here's some more information on how this is gonna work:​

• The genies in training are now going to share one custom vehicle, and, for the first time in RRRP history, use new Spray Can color made specifically for the new custom car.
• Shimmer and Shine's stats will change from [SPEED: 5 | WEIGHT: 5] to [SPEED: 7 | WEIGHT: 6], meaning they'll now be in AiAi's spot. Their Realname (after finishing a round name) and internal main name will also change to be [The_Genies] and [Shimmer_and_Shine] respectively. (This means that the WOW! WOW! WUBBZY! PACK will simultaneously get an update to Wubbzy's rivals to support the new internal name. his current rivals will stay, but then the last rival will be random.)
• Shimmer and Shine's rivals are also going to change, from each other, Leah and Zac, to Zeta the Sorceress (when she gets added to the pack), Shahra (from Sonic and the Secret Rings), and Shantae.
• Their sounds will have some changes as well, but you'll have to wait and see what happens to then.

Now how am I going to handle releasing everyone? Well, I'll take care of Shimmer and Shine first, then do Leah and Zac for a hotfix update, and then handle Kaz, Zeta, and Samira. I'm not sure how long this will take me considering 2-in-1 Characters in Ring Racers modding is a completely new thing to me and doing both Shimmer and Shine individually was already hard enough not including the quite litteral trek for SFX and voice clips. But if things go to plan, I hope to add NEW Shimmer and Shine to the MB by next next weekend.

Well, that's all I have to say for now, I'll keep you updated on the KKD Discord's custom racers channel and (maybe) on my socials on Shimmer and Shine's progress (also including progress on any other mods of mine in there or in the custom followers channel).
