SnocSock's Works in Progress

SnocSock the Hedg

The bluebell Sonic // Incredibly tired!
Hoping to make this mostly videos and/or photos and not so much typing.
Whoa! Snoc makes a map! I made a GIF that quickly goes over some of the things I've managed to add and make work so far (slopes, basic scenery, colormaps, water):

Of course, it doesn't seem like much so far, as I am very new to the mod map scene, but believe me I actually have a lot that I want to work on with this. Any feedback on anything in this project in this current state is appreciated!

Also, even though this is a beach/island level, I wanna make it look more like an undiscovered island. So, no things like umbrellas and chairs and stuff. This is definitely not because I'm lazy and don't want to try and sector-and-linedef those things into existence.

I made the level header before I even started the map. Haha-

It's the small things.

The GIFs are sped up a little to compensate for my slow PC. Sorry. The music BPM is actually 120.
(Oops, gotta add a space between the names!)

I love myself some collectibles.

And scenery.

You can't tell in the GIF, but I am also replacing some of the Vanilla sound effects with different ones to match a certain different Sonic game.

oh god why is this happening
There’s too much open space for the (pathetic) software rendering. Try making the open space smaller until the error dissapears. Also try checking if this happens when you are at the corners of the map. If this happens again, then the space is still too wide. (I had the same issue with the 1.0 version of my emerald coast remake... -.- Along with massive frame drops too...)

Ah, shit.
Thanks for letting me know! I was going to do that anyway, so...GLAD IT WASN'T GLITCHY LINEDEF BULLCRAP! I literally went through almost every linedef to make sure the hidden sides with no textures weren't causing that...AGHHHH-

Finally told off my lazy-ass self and made an actual video showing off the full map so far!

It's still not the best thing ever, but it's still something!

Working on a special secret level! I mean secret as in a surprise and you can't know about it right away secret.
Some of you might know it, some of you might not.
I'm debating whether or not to make this into a general WIP thread for my creations. I'll probably do that after whenever I manage to finish RC.

I'm probably gonna be taking a break from Raspberry Coast for now and focusing on this surprise level stuff.
That means, this is now going to be the general thread for my WIP stuff!

edit: i will probably post some vague screenshots of the secret surprise thingies

(also, no, this is not the surprise level, it's just something i came up with after making the drawing i showed earlier)

I’m also planning level design stuff on paper from time to time, but I never dared to add color to it!
This was an accident. I finished it and decided "oh this would be a cool level".
Can I buy this as a painting? For half a ring because I lost the other half? In someway...? :knuxsmug:
I mean, I guess? Honestly, I don't think it's really worth anything. .u."
This looks pretty cool by the way! :D
Thank you!

It does look cool. Reminds me of gardens in mario games for some reason.

Remember that you’re living in a time-line where a black square signed with barely readable doctor writing gets sold for amounts of money that an average person will earn in 10 years of constant work. :knuxsmug:

And if it actually is worthless then I wouldn’t be here, talking about how it has value. :>

But I actually like it, it’s symmeyrical, it has nice colors, abstract shapes and I actually would want to have this as a poster in my room...

And about posters... :knuxsmug: (Can I have the permission to use it in SSZ? I can remake it myself and I of course will add credits, but you also can remake it yourself if you want.)

Ack- Thank you! That means a lot to me.
Also, yes, you can! Any extra posters you can make is always good!

Here's how the remake looks like. :D (And I added some sneaky color-blind-unfriendly credits. :'D) Thanks for letting me use it, and I hope you like my remake. :D (And I felt that this version is a bit too flat and modern for BB's, so I decided to completely destroy it with gradients and dither... I hope you won't mind. :'>) And you can freely use it because this poster wouldn't exist without you making the original in the first place. So just act like this is a gift that now you own. :3
