i don't know why i'm making this but yeah
1. Sonic Momentum - still indev but a new demo was released a while ago, go check it out! it's so cool, so fun, and so fast.
2. Sonic GT - multiple fully fledged levels with bosses in each, an entire story with voice acting, and tons of hidden playable characters and other secrets, maybe even a bonus level
3. Sonic Spectre - currently a 6-zone demo with a miniboss in act 2 and a boss after in every zone, very cool. (latest release is from sage 2024... or was it christmas 2023? check both just in case i forgot lol)
4. Sonic Triple Trouble 16-bit - it's just straight up awesome please download it it's also complete
5. Sonic and the Fallen Star - complete game with creative zones and bosses and a unique story, rest in peace sequel game (moon facility)
6. Eggman Hates Furries - name is misleading, this is a freaking MOVIE of a game
7. Sonic Aural - serious potential in this one, demo was released at Chao Games Showcase (i think 2023) as well as the next entry
8. Sonic Legends - planned to be the Mania of sonic fangames, demo is out at CGS as mentioned before
9. Sonic Overture '95 - fan remake of Overture, promising demo with 2 great zones (i think it was at a sage but the devs made a release trailer for the demo so you can just search that up)
10. Sonic Galactic - need i say more. (i am NOT comparing it to other games or putting it on a pedestal or anything, don't worry, i'm not like that one youtuber.)
11. An Ordinary Sonic Fangame - wait why am i putting such an ordinary one on here...? ok ok i'll drop the act. X's Sonic Fangame (it says that on the title screen) is like the ordinary sonic romhack, but with more characters and various other things, including .exe chasing you on land if you stay for too long and he doesn't instakill you either!
12. SONIC: New Beginning - cool exe retake with multiple creepypastas in it, but they're all connected...
13. SALLY: Broken Heart - the second entry in the SONIC series. only one creepypasta here but it makes up for it.
14. Sonic.exe: The Destiny - pretty good spirits of hell inspired game with events you won't expect, beware of the difficulty though (update: various parts of the game have been reworked in the "reborn" update and it also adds new content)
15. FNAS - i know i know it's a fnaf fangame, but it involves sonic soooo... oh yeah and there's a bunch of actually good fangames of this fangame
16. Another Sonic Fangame - an interesting game, though not much to say
17. Sonic.exe: Time's Up - the official remake of the previous game, only a demo rn and idk if it'll ever be completed
18. Sunky Games - i occasionally sunk! there's the original games, those being the main sunky game and the .mpeg duology, and the fangames sunky pc port and sunky's schoolhouse
19. Tragic Legacy - sonic has a midlife crisis about how bad his series was going. platform and make choices to stop sonic from ending it all.
20. Sonic.exe: One Last Round - the original 2 rounds were good already, the first version of OLR was better, and the tails demo that exists now, while hard, is the best version as of now despite having the least content (i don't think this is getting finished anymore, tbh)
21. Sonic the Fighters Blitz - a remake of STF with playable eggman and metal, among other things. the game is being continued through Hyper Edition, adding planned content that was never brought to the original.
22. Sonic Time Twisted - the only sonic fangame i know of that brings back CD's time travel! many good aspects and some bad ones. can you get the emeralds and Time Stones? it's 14 special stages so good luck
23. Sonic 3D Blast 2D - self-explanatory, but it has a new story. i like to call it Sonic 2D Blast.
24. Silver the Hedgehog: Worlds Collide - a rather old silver fan game with interesting telekinesis mechanics and other things.
25. Eggman's Secret Base - fix the eggmobile or find a way out to escape the base while avoiding being spotted by a faulty attempt to clone sonic, made by the now dead eggman. if he does spot you, either find a red ring or run. there are even guns in hard mode!
26. Tailwinds - a mod for little old srb2, inspired by pilotwings and featuring brand new gameplay!
27. Sonic and the Gunslinger - another mod for srb2 with three playable characters and adjusted gameplay for all of them, with a story inspired by the storybook games!
28. Sonic Gamebook Origins - released at SAGE 2024, this game contains sonic's various choose your own adventure books, though at the moment it only has one. the original ones required you to write things down but here you've got menus to help, plus it'll save where you left off!
29. Sonic Breaking Point - a flash animation inspired fighting game, you can make opponents pierce through walls and even start falling in the sky and have one of those clash things that happens a lot in DBZ! (and prolly SMBZ too but i didn't watch that cause i'm a fake fan) current most recent release is from SAGE 2025.
30. Super Sonic System - a pre-rendered 3D (donkey kong country intensifies) fangame with AOSTH aspects. current demo is kinda jank (especially in the last zone of the demo) but still pretty fun and unique
31. Sonic Rush Rerun - it's sonic rush, what more could you ask for? current most recent version is the leaf storm 1 demo from SAGE 2025.
32. Sonic ERaZor - haha ERZ like egg rock zone. haha. ahem ANYWAYS, also a rom hack, this over-the-top "Micheal Bay" version of sonic 1 has been turned into a seperate EXE file in SAGE 2025, making it technically a fangame. be warned... lots of explosions.
33. Sonic Utopia - I KNOW this was cancelled... but the tech demo they did release is still fun
34. Sonic.exe: Dark Souls - a hard but still pretty cool exe fangame. still not as hard as spirits of hell thank god. most recent release is the remake from SAGE 2025.
