paint, bruh. I used S_SKIN but do I leave them gray in the sprites or do I need to paint them? (and the term "I copy and paste several files at once" I was looking at the SRB2 wiki and saw an image of someone copying several files at once)What do you mean by "Paint"
The sprites are gray because you’re using the wrong palette. There’s a drop-down menu at the top of the window that lets you select a palette. Use the Sonic Robo Blast 2 one.paint, bruh. You can't "paint" sprites in SLADE.paint, bruh. I used S_SKIN but do I leave them gray in the sprites or do I need to paint them? (and the term "I copy and paste several files at once" I was looking at the SRB2 wiki and saw an image of someone copying several files at once)
So what everyone is saying is you cannot add color to sprites in slade, but you have to use an external graphic design toolOk, I want to make a mod of SRB2 (I'm using Slade) but how do I copy and paste several files at once and paint them?
If I'm doing something wrong and I don't know:
well, you can, there is a sprite editor built within slade, but it’s… atrocious, to say the leastYou can't "paint" sprites in SLADE.
This should work the way you have it right now, but you need to follow others' advice to make any changes to the sprites with acceptable results.paint, bruh. in fact my sprites are not gray... THEY DON'T APPEAR THAT AND EVEN WORSE THEY ONLY APPEAR WHEN I EXPORT TO PNG!The sprites are gray because you’re using the wrong palette. There’s a drop-down menu at the top of the window that lets you select a palette. Use the Sonic Robo Blast 2 one.
I’m still unclear on what you mean by paint. Do you mean colorizing them? Do you mean drawing on them?
COLOR THEM THIS IS PAINTliterally no one knows what you mean by paint
do you mean edit? because if you want to edit it, go to the top right, select palette, select sonic robo blast 2, then right click on the sprite you want to edit, and under graphics, you can click “export as png”, so you can edit it.
i know thatYou can't "paint" sprites in SLADE.
what do you recommend so I use piskelSo what everyone is saying is you cannot add color to sprites in slade, but you have to use an external graphic design tool

I am going to tryThis should work the way you have it right now, but you need to follow others' advice to make any changes to the sprites with acceptable results.
- Set your base resource to srb2.pk3
- Set your palette to Sonic Robo Blast 2
- Make the sprites in an external program and use Import to replace a sprite and Import Files to add new sprites.
- Follow the naming conventions, the game can crash if you mess them up.
- Convert Graphics to doom graphics/textures. You can try leaving them in png format, but srb2's support for them can often be unstable, so they're best left in that format.
- Make sure your offsets are set to vvhere you vvant the character's feet to be placed, and are consistent across sprites. Try using slade's bult-in monster offset generator.
