Hamachi is basicly an application in which you sign yourself and add friends in, and with their new IP, can connect to anything the hoster is hosting. Just think of it like it's LAN.

So if you can't host in a way that you should be able to, then just start Hamachi up, have your friend join Hamachi too, and connect.

looks interesting, if i can get hold of my friend on msn we should be able to link our comps together and play srb2 and age of empires.

That's the point of this being in the General Discussions, so that people who can't host to be able to.

You create your own server, invite people in, host any game, and use the provided IP address from the hoster.

I don't get it. Does this thing have a way of opening ports or something? Otherwise this program is really pointless.

I'll give it a few weeks and see if anyone complains about spyware/haxxing/system meltdown...

[19:38] <CZ64> Nobody had suffered from spyware/haxxing/system meltdown with Hamachi, right?
[19:40] <Kat> nope
[19:40] <Kat> it's a great little program

To make it really simple, Hamachi just gives you a new, shorter IP. You start your own network so that people can enter your network. And with your new IP, you start SRB2, and the joiner uses your new IP to connect. Hamachi is made for people who can't host. That's why Hamachi is sort of like playing with LAN.

It's not a game or something, just a program that gives you a new IP. And if you're not running Hamachi, or are in the hoster's network, the IP won't work.
