It's been a long time since I've used the message board (last time was when I uploaded Jelpi... it sure has been a while lol). I've been meaning to use this place more often, as discord was where I would post updates the most, and now I feel is a good time to start. As the title suggests, this is a map pack based on the SNES F-ZERO tracks. I've attempted to translate them to fit with Ring Racers as much as possible, while still feeling like the originals as best I could. This is, of course, a work in progress, so things are subject to change. That said, I would like to hear what everyone thinks of my work so far. You may do whatever you'd like with it. Host it on a server, play with friends, modify values or tracks, etc. Let me know if you make any changes and especially let me know if there's any issues that crop up.
Here are previews of what to expect at the moment.
Big Blue has been completed. This one holds a special place in my heart because it was the first one I started a long time ago and where I adopted that FX-Chip flat-shaded polygonal look to everything. I love that era of 3D graphics, and its a shame the only modern games that come to mind that replicate the specific 90s look is Ex-Zodiac and Hotshot Racing. (both very amazing games you should check out)

Sand Ocean finished. Mute City and Death Wind are next. Death Wind I had already planned out the details in the skybox. Mute City on the other hand... you will hear of my struggles with Mute City when I get to it.
Authors note: The sand ocean rock is back and brought it's family!

Working on Death Wind now and I have a bit of an announcement to make. If you've played the beta, you'll no doubt know about the massive wall off to the side during position to prevent players from being blown away when the round starts. I thought it would be cool to have some graffiti on the wall for fun, so I've already asked the KKD discord for anyone who wants to put something on it, and now I'm asking here. If you're interested in putting something on the wall - artwork, funny message, whatever - then you can contact me either through email (toddoestuff@gmail.com) or through Discord (@toddoestuff) and send me the graphic. Some things to keep in mind if you decide to follow through with this request:
Graphic must not exceed 256x256 pixel dimension (too tall and it'll get cut off. too long and that's less room for everyone else)
Graphic can be a transparent PNG (doesn't have to be, but it makes my life easier to composite everything later)
Does not need to be F-ZERO themed (you can write/draw whatever!)
Nothing explicitly sexual
Nothing too violent or graphic (alluding to the players demise is okay, but gore is not i'm squeamish okay)
those last two probably don't need to be said but just being cautions I suppose...
Proper credits will go into the readme of the PK3 and on the back of the wall when this map releases. There is no deadline for this. I will be accepting anything so long as there is room left on the wall, and its a pretty big wall... so by the time you see this you should be able to put something up. That is all. Proper Death Wind update coming soon!
Death Wind finalized. I'll be honest... I don't particularly like the way this one looks right now. This one may get a complete overhaul in the future. Despite that, I still am proud of the mountain in the back with the big ape-like skull. I can't wait to finish this pack so I can move on to the rest...
