AI path finding

I've been playing with fox bot lately and without them teleporting to me they don't know where to go and just stay in one area, can anyone tell me a pathfinding mode the makes them smarter?

There are no mods that change the pathfinding of partner characters into something more intelligent as far as I'm aware.

Bots can't understand levels, they only know how to follow you. It's like in Sonic 2. There's no mod for that because it would probably require changes to SRB2's mapping system.
