8. AI-Generated Code and Assets

We have been noticing an increase in submissions featuring AI-generated assets and Lua scripting. While we understand why using such options is tempting, we have a few restrictions that any submission must follow:

1. Your mod may not be entirely AI-generated.
The Submissions Guidelines already require that your mod have "a good chunk of content that you created yourself", which obviously won't be the case if you entirely AI-generate your submission. Addons which contain little-to-no human-made assets or code will be rejected.
2. You may not include AI-generated sprites, sounds, textures, or graphics for any purpose.
Even if a majority of the art is still human-made, any AI-generated art in your submission will result in a rejection.
3. Some AI-generated or AI-assisted code is tolerated, but it may not comprise the entirety of your code.
While you may use some AI-generated code, if your addon has Lua scripting then a substantial chunk of it must still be made by you, a human. Recycled code from other addons will not count towards this, you must make it yourself. AI can be a helpful tool for learning how to write code, but you still need to learn through experience, which you won't get if you let AI do all the work for you.
Additionally, you may not AI-generate your forum posts. Mod descriptions need to be written by a real human; any posts clearly written by a bot will be deleted.

In general, we would recommend avoiding the use of AI as much as possible when creating addons. Bots are not very well trained on SRB2's particular B-Lua implementation, and we have noticed obvious mistakes in generated code many times. Many within the community do not like generative AI at all, so you may receive backlash should you choose to use it.
