about how fast should you beat each level in order to achieve a speed run, for instance:

GFZ 1 - 30 secs
GFZ 2 - 100 secs
etc...
 
My best on those 2 are...
GFZ1:16 secs
GFZ2:48 secs
both with sonic...
although...I have heard of some people beating GFZ1 in 13 seconds and seen it too...
Some people can beat CEZ1 in 1 min or less.....CRAZY PROS >.<

(I bet I would pwn anyone in Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega Genesis)

The GFZ in 13 seconds is Shuffle.
 
but under what amount of time would you have to beat each level to unlock the time attack mode, i know it should be 6:30, but how much should it be per level.
 
It kinda depends on how well you do on a certain level. For example, I could say you have to beat CEZ1 under 1:30 mins and THZ2 under 50 seconds, or CEZ1 under 1 min and THZ under 1:10 mins. (I am kinda making this up).

Some general tips are:
- Find shortcuts
- use sonic and thok
- use strafe or analog depending on your preference.

CEZ1: I forget. 30~?
CEZ2: Uhh, no.

Those times are impossible without Noclip. How did you do it?
 
GFZ1: 13 seconds-Sonic 12 seconds-SMS
GFZ2: 31 seconds-Sonic 29 seconds-SMS
THZ1: 39 seconds-Sonic 32 seconds-SMS(by good use of his abilities)
THZ2: 43 seconds-Sonic 37 seconds-SMS
CEZ1: 51 seconds-Sonic 42 seconds-SMS
CEZ2: 53 seconds-Sonic 54 seconds-SMS(OMG! A slower time then Sonic!)

Uhh, as you can see, they're mild guesses from my memory. The THZ2 time is definately possible, Ask Shuffle for the best THZ1 and CEZ1 time, and GFZ2 was somewhere in that range, I think Sonic can get 30 seconds or so, and Tails is faster at it.
 
I remember getting through CEZ2 in just 6 seconds or so by Chaos Control-ing through all the doors hoping not to get stuck under any of 'em, as doing so would insta-death you. I think that's fixed now and you just bounce off the doors, but I don't remember...

Edit: As of SRB2JTE 1.09.4, you can, but it seems to be much slower. You just need to use first person mode and you must walk all the way up to the door before Chaos Control-ing or you won't be moving fast enough to clear it without the game noticing.
 
The maximum time? There is no maximum time, last I checked. But 10 minutes should be enough for any Sonic level in existance. :P

GFZ2 - 34.09

THZ1 - 49.18
THZ2 - 40.23

CEZ1 - 1:12.22
CEZ2 - 1:04.31

Fastest times for me so far. I will get better watch. 8)

Edit: GFZ3 - 18.28 THZ3 - 31.07 CEZ3 - 26.23
 
I managed to finish it yesterday, the first time I went all the way through I ended up with a time of 6:36, anyway, times:

GFZ1: 16.04
GFZ2: 40.03
GFZ3: 20.14

THZ1: 52.21
THZ2: 41.18
THZ3: 23.05

CEZ1: 1.11.07
CEZ2: 1.12.02
CEZ3: 23.28

*looks at carnages' times*.............you didn't have to do the boss stages.
 
I did do the boss stages but I did't think you had to put them up becuase noone else did. But I will edit my other post. All of my times added up to 5:52.15. I just barely missed the time attack bonus .lol. :mrgreen:
