Multiplayer crashes before connecting! help!

As soon as I select "search for game" SRB2 crashes, and I get a message box that says:

SOCK_Send, error sending to node 32 (255.255.255.255:5029)
#100049: unknown error

Please tell me what went wrong!

Code:
WSAEADDRNOTAVAIL
(10049)

Cannot assign requested address.
The requested address is not valid

What The Hell? Do you have ipv6 installed on your WinSock stack?

I fixed it. I ended up reinstalling it.

But...What the heck does it mean when it says: "you've been kicked from the game (consistency failure)"???

Does it mean my dial-up is too slow or something?

I was in the middle of a CTF game too! :(

That means something in your game happened that other games couldn't handle. You can always reconnect when that happens, it's prolly one of the smallest fatal errors.

Well, good for you. You didn't answer his question, though.

Neither did you.

anyway, whenever i use startrings and turn super, tons of players get kicked (consisety faillure)

its probably just a good idea for yo and your friends to collect the rings manually, because it was something on your computer that everone else couldnt handle
just colect the rings manually instead of entering a code in the console

Im having the same problem. Its annoying me.
I get this error message

and my DXDiag things are...

Whats DirectX got to do with this error? Its something to do with how your network/internet is configured.

Host a game before join game (search) or srb2 will crash with that error, alternatively, use listserv in the console at the title screen.

W00t, my computer is better than someone elses!

It'll work in game and on the title screen, as well as the intro movie, but it won't work if they is a menu open.
