Compiling from Source and Hosting A dedicated server.

I need help compiling srb2 from source on Ubuntu 18.04 64x for a dedicated server. I'm using Vultr so I don't have access to anything visual and I don't know too much about Linux. I've tried Flatpak but I can't seem to find the proper Directories to put wads on top of that my dedicated server on flatpak keeps disappearing off the master server (It still runs after the fact it just won't show up for some reason) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
