Odd error when loading my own PK3s

I've scoured the wiki and forums for a similar case, but haven't found any posts or articles with this particular issue.

Using kartmaker, I create a WAD and use SLADE to convert it to a PK3. When I load that PK3, I get an error the console describes as "Missing Central Directory." When loading the straight WAD, the message I get after a crash refers to a syntax error found in the SL_SKIN file. I've formatted the SL_SKIN file to match other custom PK3s I've been able to load, but no dice.

The issue is usually attributed to "S_SKIN lump#12" or even "lump#1" in one instance I had. I tried making sure all character files having the same 4 letter tag unique to the character (JERR in my case), organizing folders, or just leaving as it based on other custom characters, but each time I get the same errors. I have SLADE's Base Resource Archive set to srb2.srb, but is there some other archive I may be missing?

Feel free to attach the files you have so people can take a closer look - if nobody comes around and recognizes what's wrong from what you've described, you can also try hitting up the kart krew discord, since they're usually pretty active with folks who can answer questions like this. https://discordapp.com/invite/WJmqDtN

While I can't personally troubleshoot the wad (and getting that working is the first step here, naturally), once you have that working, you may want to consider using one of the standalone PK3 converters on the board rather than changing it to pk3 manually. That should cut out possible issues from the conversion itself.

By any chance, does the name or realname fields in your S_SKIN lump contain spaces?
If they do, replace them with underscores (_) instead.
