What's Wrong with the Knuckles Sprites?

We all know the Knuckles sprites aren't yet done, and that we can't "ask for a finished Knuckles". But what is wrong with them? Were they rushed, ripped, or made by a bad spriter?

Uhh, Jackel/DOHLBerg isn't a member of the team...he's not even around anymore.
 
The 1.09.4 Knuckles sprites don't fit with the rest of the characters, and frankly it looks really ugly. All it is was a placeholder until the real sprites get finished. The drawn Knuckles sprites will fit the style of the rest of the characters as well as looking much better then the sprite model placeholders.
 
Something still doesn't make sense to me. Chaos Knux said we aren't allowed to ask for the original model off which the placeholder sprites were based. Why?
 
We aren't allowed to ask for a complete Knuckles in 1.1, which has nothing to do with asking for the model to be in 1.1.

Well, to clear this up, Jackel/DOHLBerg was never a member of the SRB2 team, he was just a general SRB2 fan that decided to contribute the Knuckles Sprites we have currently, and the current Knuckles Sprites were introduced in SRB2 Demo 4.1, with a new standing sprite done in v1.08, and some more new sprites (Death, pickup, etc.) were done in v1.09.4.
