Help with drivers

So, probably the most worst problem I faced happened on New Year's eve. Great.

SO, I went on Nvidia's web site and did an advanced driver search(I was trying to lower lag for TF2) and searched my graphics card: a Nvidia Geforce 6510SE. I looked at the list and saw release 830. I downloaded, installed,restarted,etc...

Now however, I'm forced to 640x420, 4 bit, and I have no idea on how to fix it. My original best my computer could get is 1028x768, 32 bit. And I cant just redownload a driver that WORKS from their site, as when I get to "Your download will start shortly" screen, Firefox crashes. Please help, it looks worser than Tribes.

QFT

The Driver scanner program needs at least 800x600 resolution, which I can't increase.

EDIT: Fixed the problem by finding a backup of a driver update that works. Thanks anyway.
