Team Match Unfair?

Today I was playing Team Match with 3 friends & 1 not so much friend. I think that when one player swapped to a diffrent team their score carried over. Is this true? If it is I find it rather unfair. =-/

Last time I checked, when someone switches, their score stays the same and don't transfer any points.

Player score is completely independent from team score. If you hit an opponent, you get 50 points and your team gets 50 points. If you change teams, the team score is completely unchanged.

We were winning, the host decides to scramble.
