I was reffering more to Mecha Sonic.
I suppose the actual final boss is fairly hard, though even if you don't know you could hit him above the arm, you could try hitting him when he lands, etc.

I don't see your point.
I never got Super Sonic because he always ruined the game. It's activated instantly when you jump and have fifty Rings, which is a pretty bad idea. I like collecting the Emeralds so I can fully beat the game, but I don't want to ruin the future gameplay.

Sonic 1 would be more epic if the end had lots of animals having a great time in ALL the zones.
Sonic 2 also has tails. Who is CUTE! <3 It also has the best 2P in the classic sonic series!
Sonic 2 is a pretty good game, though in my opinion S3&K is much better. Sonic 1 was my first Sonic game.
The things that I don't like in the game are the automatic super transformation in the air after a single jump. The only way I have to try and get round it somehow if possible is to spin dash up a slope, or spindash off something, hoping to bounce on the enemies below me. Also some of the levels were too short, and needed to be bigger. The 1st acts of Chemical Plant, Aquatic Ruin suffer from this the most out of all of the stages. Also if Tails can fly after he died or if you left him behind, then why couldn't you do it in gameplay? which is one thing which annoyed me when I first played the game and kind of made Tails not that exciting in 1P unless you want to run through 1P with him for the fun of it. When Sonic 3 introduced Tails being able to fly in gameplay, I played as him much more than I did in Sonic 2.
Though what I do like about the game is the nice colourful environments as you go through the game, music was quite cool, fairly challenging in some areas, and unlike Sonic 3's a decent 2P mode, though it couldhave more stuff in it.

The 2P mode in Sonic 2 is better then the sonic 3 2p...Because it is a short race in Sonic 3 but in Sonic 2 it is half zone race...That make the game more funny!

No it didn't.
1: The second controller can make Tails fly in Sonic & Tails mode, IIRC.
2: Sonic Chaos/Sonic & Tails did the first ONE PLAYER method of allowing Tails to fly.

1. If you talking about Sonic 2, then you are incorrect. Sonic 3 was the first game to have that.
2. I was talking about the Genesis series mainly. I should of been more specific. But yeah it did introduce it in the Gamegear game & overall series, but wasn't as good as the genesis flying.

its was my first sonic game but i play it on sonic mega collection for game cube but the best thing about is the debug code! one time i was vs eggman and i put the goal post and tough when i was sonic it said sonic got past act 2 and i got hit two times and die. eggman was cheating!
Sonic 2 was actually the first Sonic game I played. I was under 10 years old, and my friend borrowed a Genesis. I was playing 2P as Tails, and was in the Casino level.
The Sonic 3 & Knux Compilation CD was my first Sonic game, and I got Sonic 2 later on in Sonic Mega Collection. I only played through it 3 or 4 times, and never got the Emeralds. Tails always messed things up, and thought it was too hard. To this day, I haven't bothered getting all 7 emeralds.

I started out killing the final boss in Sonic 2 by hitting the robot's back, just above the jet pack flame. Then when I later got S&K and used knuckles, I learned that you can hit the robot in the butt, just under the flame (knuckles wasn't able to jump over the jet pack flame...it was pretty difficult to beat the boss by hitting the butt). Eventually I learned that you can hit him in the lower and upper stomach as well...lol
Protip: Go to options, switch to Sonic alone, win special stages.
I remember myself playing this game and failing in Chemical Plant (I was just a kid ok? XD) Back then i loved Acuatic Ruin.
I used to call this game "Sonic Colita" instead of sonic 2, Colita is how i used to call Tails.
Anyway, This is Probably one of the best Sonic games. So yeah Long live to Sonic 2 XD

Sonic 2 was my first game I think... On the good old Genesis... Ahhh good times good times... Man I hate that glitch with the emeralds and the end sign jump glitch too!!! I WAS LIKE ON THE LAST ZONE AND I FORGOT ABOUT IT!!!! But one of my favorite glitches in the game is the debug final boss glitch! You go into debug mode right before you jump out of the final boss go back to where you fought him then he'll reappear and look all glitchy and weird colored.
