Lurking as you read this
Ok, I am here to teach you new people, how to correctly post images and download links and other random stuff.

First off, pictures.

Go to imageshack.us , MK???

Click that big thing that says "browse images", and select your image. (If you don't know the path to go to saved images, your a new person)

PIC coming soon... NOW!

*sigh, imageshack takes so long to upload for me sometimes....*

Ok, Now, how to select the thing that will make you give a 56k warning. :D

(AKA, Make on screen pictures)

And... then copy and paste it into the big white box >.>

Now, how to make images in srb2 without the console.

There are 2 ways. First, open up the console.

You can type in "BIND X SCREENSHOT", X being a variable of course. Meaning it can be (almost) any button on your keyboard.

BAM, your pic will be saved in your SRB2 folder.

Or... You could press printscreen, and then you just have to paste it into PAINT, and save it anywhere.

Next up, download links! And... one more topic before this post comes to an end :(((

Woot, read this to put files in a place were they will (hopefully) never expire!

Hmm... And if you are wondering how I did that, it is...

Code:
[url=http://www.fakeurl.com] WORDS YOU WANT THE LINK TO BE HERE [/url]

There will be more to come, when I see a bunch of new people having problems with some things.

And if you don't like the color deal with it.

The title got cut off, replace every instance of noob or n00b with newbie, get rid of teh pretty text, and it would be pretty good.

Thats why it links to imageshack.us if you click "yes".

EDIT: Because you are ovbiously a noob if you read a "how to guide for new users" thread. >.>

I like photobucket more than imageshack. It tends to be a lot easier to use
but that's my opinion.

Is this a response to Supersonic 13yr's double post in the fav robot topic?
I already pm'd him about how to do it but at least this solves new people asking.
No offense but I thought your instructions seemed pretty ambiguous.

This was my explanation.
(once the pic is hosted, or if you take it off a google search.)
Right click on the picture you want to use and click on "copy image location".
Then when you go to comment you'll see Img in the 8th box over above the
box you type in. Click on that then paste (ctrl+v) the code you copied from
the picture. Right after the code click the Img button again to close the link
or the pic won't work.

Or just as easily you can type

around the code (paste the code where I put "and")
It does the same thing but you don't have to stop typing to
go click that button.

Of course that only covers putting pics in comments, good job covering
dl links though. I think there should be somewhere more conspicuous
newcomers can go to read about this type of topic or is there?
It's a shame there should even need to be a MB FAQ but then again,
you have to learn somehow.

(814), the reason I made this is because of the growing population... of people who don't know how to host images. That's also why I didn't teach the way using only the IMG tag, so more people would click the pictures linking to imageshack.us . So more people would learn to host images correctly

*pwned*
Point taken, I guess I was thinking more about googling images
and just not knowing how to put them in the MB, but I suppose
that doesn't help with screenies. Still, if you're going to try to
help people I'd say go with photobucket.com just because it's
a little easier to use at least for me. Either way kudos for making this.
