Sorry for taking so long! So, I FINALLY got around to checking to see if this fixed it. I made a whole new map. Followed the instructions on the wiki, have all the SRB2 configs including the new one, made sure the engine was SRB2 Kart V1.2, hit test, and... The exact same error window. I...

I definitely did these, no problem. But this... This is what confuses me. By "especially the PLAYPAL.lmp file," do you mean I need to have that file in the folder with the character when I export?

I've made sprites, but when I drag the folder into kartmaker, it does nothing. Do I need to get something else for this to work properly?
