The version of the previous addon doesn't matter for the filename in the context of a port, you can specify the old addon's version inside the changelog.
The filename convention rules are to funnel any bug reports to you rather than the old author, and also specify the SRB2 version the port is...
So long as you follow the soon to be published port rules, you should be fine.

LOL, nah the staff don't ban users if their username on some netplay session is seen doing bad things. Anyone can name themselves "Pikaspoop" online and say the worst stuff imaginable.
They'd rather just ban that specific IP address of the bad netgame...
