Everything I'm about to say is my own personal thoughts, I represent myself and myself alone.
I would like you to know that I think this pettiness of this "discord contract" you take so seriously is on the same level as the strawman arguments you make about STJR's stance about re-usability...
None of your examples support your opening statement of "That's (RR critique) certainly a factor in all this though".
The simple truth is that KK did not ban anybody for RR critique, they're not like old guard at all. In fact, they're awesome folks!
So please try to keep this discussion on...
Yeah this is just straight up incorrect. Like Othius said, Glaber's ban had nothing to do with critiquing Ring Racers.
Please don't assume the moderation team is concerned about critique against RR, as I said previously the KK team wants critique to make the game as best as it can be. What needs...
(gonna be paraphrasing)
Saying things like "the game has no future" and "don't bother modding for this game" aren't exactly criticisms of the game, rather they're verbal attacks.
There's a reason why almost all of the RR criticizers weren't banned, because they weren't being vicious or toxic. KK...
Yeah, simply mentioning that a conversation happened is not at all the same as actually disclosing the information.
I can also vouch for Charyb that nothing was ever leaked from your conversation, and Charyb has too much integrity and restraint to ever let info like that out.
Yeah, we will both play the addon and also inspect it using SLADE.
We'll do the same with the original addon; play it in an older version of SRB2 and inspect the file contents to compare.
What we see on the screen will most likely influence our choice, and you being honest about the changes you...
Comments like this don't contribute to the conversation, please stop egging others on to harass Sandwichface. Everyone should be civil with each other.
The rules we made for porting are specifically for addons that are not open assets (we don't use the term "reusable" anymore).
You can no...
The version of the previous addon doesn't matter for the filename in the context of a port, you can specify the old addon's version inside the changelog.
The filename convention rules are to funnel any bug reports to you rather than the old author, and also specify the SRB2 version the port is...
So long as you follow the soon to be published port rules, you should be fine.
It should be faithful, so using the old texture would be the correct call.

That's up to the moderators, I'm just a judge.
contrary to popular belief, we don't want to restrict or attack our own community. We've been taking small steps to make this site better and it's culminated to this new announcement.
We always wanted to overhaul the rules to be healthier for the community, it just takes a while to plan these...
In my honest opinion, it can be justified. Hypothetically lets say there's a super old KartZ map you wanted to port.
We have a community-maintained spreadsheet of all the Map IDs, and a lot of them are taken up. It's reasonable to want the port to work alongside a lot of the maps so we'd...
