Is it really necessary to distinguish between foreground and background colors in the translucency table?

By 2 blend cases, I meant the translucency and additive blend tables, sorry I wasn't very clear - SRB2 currently supports several blend modes, in addition to the regular translucency blending which used to have; I believe they are internally generated on game launch, but they're there, each with...

Is it really necessary to distinguish between foreground and background colors in the translucency table?

If I understand correctly, what you suggest is to reuse remap table lumps which have a mirrored counterpart - it could probably be possible to do for the translucency and additive blending, but it most likely no longer applies for other blend modes. I overall don't think it's an optimization...

Does anybody use the 'transfer line' feature?

If so, is there a reason you would prefer it over splitting the FOF targets and using different tags for each texture?

    What's strange about you?

That's something that happens when you rub your nose too hard. Don't worry though, it's as easy as not rubbing your nose too hard.

    Unofficial v2.2 Discussion Thread

I wouldn't say they're leaks as much as showing what we make, just like any other user. I apologize if posting screencaps and gifs spoil the surprise for some, it's not my intent to sour the next release. That DSZ2 will likely not make it into 2.2's release, sorry about that. You got a...

    PK3 read errors

...loads PK3s in a slightly similar way as WADs: instead of looking for FF_START, FF_END, it looks for the first entry called, for example, "Sprites/*", and assumes it is the folder entry, and treats it as the start marker. If found, then it looks for the next entry which DOESN'T have...

    PK3 read errors

I'm pretty sure this is because the game expects hierarchically organized files in the central directory based on folders. It'd require some extra work regarding sprites to load files arbitrarily regardless of the central directory ordering, and It'd be slower (to what extent I don't know) than...

    Kart Krew™'s exe mods

It's just a vertical barrel distortion correction, which Doom originally didn't have. I might look into backporting it into 2.1 since it is a really simple change.

Sonic Robo Blast 2's 20th Anniversary

Do you think it'd be better if we stick to Act 1's original tune more closely? My idea was to deviate from the original slightly for Act 2, which is the one in the trailer, perhaps I went overboard. Are you fine with the overall sound otherwise, putting the melody aside? As a side note, I...

    E3 Discussion?

Now that I know why nintendo C&D'd the fan made metroid 2 remake, I can pretty much say that they can go fuck themselves and that I'm not buying them anything ever.

Confirmed "Ripple" effect doesn't work in OpenGL.

That's because the opengl renderer doesn't support the ripple effect at all. EDIT: Do you mean the surface distortion? That's what is not supported. The whole screen waving when underwater, however, should work.

    Dynamic Slopes

The slope behavior is "dynamic" by default. It means the slope will vary if you alter the sector heights, and in the case of vertex slopes, the "vertex" mobjs as well.

Flat surface hack in 2.2 (AFD 2016)

Hey guys: I actually just wanted to show a great trick you can do in the upcoming version, 2.2, which lets you fake flat surfaces. As you may know, as for 2.2 goes, everything will be made out of slopes, so getting a flat surface effect could still be interesting; here's how. Note that they're...
