Reading through this thread for the past few days has left me in a mood I'm not sure I can describe. I'll just go ahead and put my own thoughts out there... I discovered SRB2 as a pretty young kid during the late final demo days but didn't start interacting with the community until a few years...

Pretty enjoyable maps to playthrough. I really liked the aesthetic you went for, especially for act 2, and the music choices were great. I do think that some areas (mosty in act 2) were too open. I ended up losing track of the intended path anytime I strayed a bit too far for some exploration...

Yeah, I would be surprised if this was it for entirely new characters. Going out of their way to state that more will be revealed in the coming months only to go ahead and only show echoes seems off to me...

Wow, so that was also a reference to a previous game... The guys who made Mania truly are huge fans of classic Sonic. The number of references they managed to fit in here is ridiculous. From obvious things like Bark, Bean and Fang making an appearance in that one boss battle to the little Sky...

The transform button was definitely a welcome addition. Super can feel like a cheat sometimes because of how overpowered it is. So, it's nice that they finally let the player choose if they want to use it or not. Running out of rings in the middle of a boss fight is still a nightmare though...
