Special Rings in Single Player
Is there any way to make special rings (homing and such) appear in single-player mode without hacking the program? I tried A_SpawnObjectRelative, but it just made a normal ring appear. Am I going to have to create a custom-coded ‘pseudo-ring’ for each of these?

I really have no idea whether there's a way to actually make them appear or not, but why not make a pseudo-ring?

Well, I figured out a mistake and made another. I entered in the wrong number at first. And now it’s summoning… a fan? Odd…

Sure you don't still have the number wrong?

For A_SpawnObjectRelative, you should be using 115 - 119.

One way to make the special rings appear is to start the map with ringslinger on.

Yeah. I mean, doesn't Mystic Realm have that kind of stuff already?

Yes. And you need to put "ringslinger 1" in the console for the items to show. Same for GemPlanet (I think).

Start the game with Ringslinger on?

Oh, no wonder!

I would have thought that simply using a ringslinging character would be enough, but apparently not…

Also, I was using 115-119. Still made a fan appear.

object place is one way to do it.

Yes, but the point is for the special rings to already be there, not for the player to have to put it in themselves every time they play the stage.

than i have no clue how

Well, the aforementioned method does work, provided I use a startup script to turn ringslinger on.
