A good or bad idea?

I hate it when you have to stop and chat to people, it gets annoying. I mean like why can't we use our mics? I already have a mic build into my laptop. I mean like people that's mic are broken sure, you can still use the chat thing. But it gets annoying with the sound *beep* every like 1min or 2.

I know what you mean but you know what, that's what MSN & Skype are for.

Actually they have tried it. It was posted on some thread but I'm not gonna go through the trouble of finding it. Yes....i'm that lazy. Anyway it just got cancelled because I guess not many people used it or something like that. Maybe you could ask one of the DEVs about it i'm sure they know.

Maybe because it would cause enormous lag? O.o
Chatting is not client-to-client; your text is sent to the host and the host sends it to all clients. Imagine what would happen if you would do this with an audio stream.

You can try using the srb2.org mumble servers. http://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=35514
