Any indie games you guys recommend? Popular or hidden gems, give them out!

Shiny Rock!
Across the dumpster fire of a wasteland known as the Triple AAA gaming industry, it got me in a mood to check out indie gaming, and I figured I open a thread to see what kind of indies you guys like to play and have others (including me) to try out as well!

I'll start with me, anyone who loves classic Resident Evil should definitely try out Crow County and SIGNALIS!

One game I don’t personally like but I still find neat regardless is Your Only Move Is Hustle.
It’s a turn-based fighting game. It’s cooler than it sounds.

Well, Freedom Planet 2, UltraKill, Shovel Knight and the Risk of Rain franchise are ones I HIGHLY recommend (also Palworld is cool too, but I haven't played yet because my PC is not that good to run it lol)

Off the top of my head, some really fun ones are Inti-Creates games such as the Azure Striker Gunvolt and Luminous Avenger iX games, the Blaster Master Zero games, Gal Guardians: Demon Purge, Dragon Marked For Death, Yohane the Perihelion: Blaze In the Deepblue, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon and its sequel, and Mighty Gunvolt Burst.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is also really fun, and I'd also recommend (in no particular order) 20XX and 30XX, Antichamber, Aragami and Aragami 2, Cavern of Dreams, Corn Kidz 64, Demon Turf, Pseudoregalia, Coromon, Cuphead, Hollow Knight, Virtua Unlimited Project, Super Kiwi 64, Guacamelee and Guacamelee 2, Rabi-Ribi, Tevi, Monster Sanctuary, Pampas & Selene: The Maze of Demons, Frontier Hunter: Erza's Wheel of Fortune, The Last Hero of Nostalgaia, Castle Crashers, Fight N' Rage, Rampage Knights, Lost Castle, the Shantae games, Barony, V Rising, Nexomon: Extinction, and Q.U.B.E.

Palworld is fun but still very much in the "early" stages of Early Access, I'd recommend giving that one time to cook before considering playing it seriously. I would like to second Shovel Knight and the Risk of Rain games however, great experiences. I've not played Freedom Planet 2 but I did enjoy the first Freedom Planet game.

Edit: I almost forgot to mention A Hat in Time, and also Celeste.

Undertale Yellow, Sonic Before/After the Sequel, Sonic and the Fallen Star, Sonic World DX, Sonic Chrono Adventure.

Those are all the ones I can think of, as of right now. Some of them are seriously gems to me and also hold lots of childhood nostalgia.

For fully original games i def recommend stuff like Celeste, A Hat in Time, OneShot, Undertale, FNF, Deltarune, Gravity Circuit etc.

For Fangames (aside from SRB2) id recommend stuff like Mega Man maker, MMX8 16 bit, AM2R etc.

i know some of these games (Specifically Deltarune and FNF) aren't finished but they're still fun regardless

So fangame wise, but not exactly indie, I'd definitely say SWDX, NotITG, and Sonic Boll.
Hackwise, S3Air and Sm64ExCoop are pretty cool.
And for those wishing to start a big game, I'm making one using IKEMEN GO, and recommend you try too.. (I needa make two characters and then I'm done, then I hafta wait on my brother for the storyboard, and he hasn't started in 2-3 months! :dramahog: )

Broforce is fun with friends. Just a warning though, it's hilariously offensively American. (You'll understand if you look at it for yourself.)

This may sound goofy, but Baldi’s Basics PLUS is on the level as pizza tower for me.

If you like real-time strategy mixed with the chaos of seed based generation along with the atmospheric art-style of 90s educatment games, then man, this is an absolute gold-mine of a game.

And when you get hang of this game’s mechanics, it becomes one of the most fun experiences you will have with strategy games as a casual player.

The items are simple and you can easily remember what they do just by how diverse they are. For example, try to compare a door lock to a banana peel... In other words, you won’t have to remember 50 variants of the same item just to have any chance of getting good. But mastering the items and the rewards of using them is the key to a great time!

And this game also has a bit of characters... But it’s the same deal like with items. Every character is so unique, that once you meet and understand they work, you will never mix up or forget what a specific character does. And the only thing that I will say about character design is that when all character are put together, they basically look like background characters in TAWOG. So the art direction is all over the place in the best meaning of that phrase.

And due to this game having a seed generation (like in Minecraft for example) it’s infinitely replayable, and in my opinion this game shines with replay value, every run takes around 10 minutes if you’re good, and even if you’re not, a single run is perfectly balanced so it won’t be too short nor too long. And it’s engaging all around.

And the best part of this game is that it’s not even done yet. And when a game is already good in early access, then that’s your sign that you probably should give it a try. Or not... but still, if you’re into strategy then this is your sign to finally try this goofy semi-horror game. (And yeah, this game is a horror game, but the whole horror for this time in the development is just a quick jumpscare when Baldi catches you and some spooky game corruption shanenigans.)

And I’m not really sure if BB’s could be considered as a hidden gem, but I feel like it tightly fits into this category. Yes, the game did explode in 2018, but afterwards this game just disapeared from public image for a bit, and now people just tend to see BB’s as that silly mascot horror game from 2018, not knowing how much that game grew since that 2018 game jam version. But it seems like people are starting to remember BB’s, mainly due to the rapid updates of PLUS. So now I can pretty much say that... It’s something in between, it’s a hidden gem, but it’s still quite popular. :P
