Nevermind, still need help! (UZB confusion)

SnocSock the Hedg

The bluebell Sonic // Incredibly tired!
I'm using the video guides SeventhSentinel posted on here forever ago, and I can't for the life of me figure out why I can't make this floating platform!!

This is what Sev does:

This is what I get:

My target sector:

My control sector:

My control linedef:

I followed everything he did, and I still get this.

ALSO! When I try to test my map in SRB2, it SIGSEGVs and I don't know why! If anyone could find out why (or needs pictures of my map, which i will certainly supply) that would be helpful too! Good news! I just needed to name my map back to MAP01 to fix this. Whoops... If you couldn't tell already, I'm very new to this.

So I kinda made progress? I think? It looks different in testing than it does in UZB's visual mode. I think I'm getting closer, though.

The seven stages of grief we're expressed approximately 30 times each in this single thread.

Made a simple gif to help walk you through the steps of placing an object on a floating platform.View attachment 148681
The problem is, that doesn't work. "Height" isn't listed and I can't change it. More problems is that--even though advanced rendering is on--I can't see water in visual mode. Is my UZB bugged, or is it my PC?

To elaborate: slopes, water, and the floating platforms themselves do not appear in visual mode, and I don't know what to do to fix that.

You can only change a sector's height in visual mode and sector mode; when editing in sector mode, make sure you are on the properties tab.

TLDR: If tabbing in visual mode doesn't fix the problem, you're probably making a level using the legacy config. Select UDMF when making a map for a more stable Ultimate Zone Builder experience. The UDMF SRB2 setup process is the same as legacy but with UDMF enabled and selected in game config. Hope you have an enjoyable time modding!

Oh, I can change the Sector heights fine. I should've specified that I meant the height of things, or the Z-position/offset/value(??). That's not what's showing up for me.
Changing to UDMF has fixed all my problems. Thanks so much for the help!
