Have you seen the Sonic google play thread on twitter 💀

my friend showed it to me on discord. yet another example of companies trying to be relatable for some weird reason lol

I don't use Twitter much anymore, but I saw it when I was looking at another tweet. What I liked the most was that each tweet in the thread had a community note below it saying exactly how wrong it was :P

I'm not sure how someone with some understanding of technology looks at a picture of Sonic Dash and thinks "yep, 30 year old game". I might be overestimating how much people generally know, though. Googling the Sonics with their years generally gets responses that work, so I'm not really sure how they got so far off.

Unless they did it on purpose, to create engagement. I wouldn't be surprised.

It appears to be a result of them using AI instead of real people to generate posts/content.
That would make a lot of sense, unfortunately :(

I'm not really sure whether anyone's created an AI capable of writing posts and illustrating them with curated images from the internet, which might explain why the images generally aren't any more specific than "Sonic", but I wouldn't put it past them. There is the weird case of the Sonic Prime image that seems to have used AI to delete the background characters, though.

They had soo many chances to get at least one right, and failed every single one of them.
It should be studied how such rubish got past quality assurance. If they even have quality assurance to begin with.

even had the official account wondering what was going on
